Weekend Weather Center is still using the Weekend Now backdrop. It also appears to be master controlled, which is odd. (it's normally full controlled on weekends)
It was full controlled. ;)

You know, it's possibly the biggest severe weather outbreak of the spring going on right now, but TWC is showing Forecast Earth. I just sent them another scathing email, not like it's going to change anything.

Maybe if we all send emails they'll get the picture. Who did you send the email to?

I sent it using the Assistance Request Form at

http://www.weather.com/interact/contactus/cableprogramming.html?from=contactus#

From experience, it seems to go to Chris Hoitsma.

It was? Sure seemed like master to me. They used transitions that are only used on master controlled shows, and the lower thirds were taller than they are on full controlled shows. Also, the one-line lower thirds for the :00 and :30 past headlines did not do a "erase and retype" effect - instead, a lower third was regenerated for each headline.

To me, it definitely seemed like it was master controlled, but then again, full control could be pulling our legs again like on March 28, 2006. :P

The usage of music and the way that everything was done in relation to the teasers seemed full controlled to me. I think the Weekend Weather Center crew likes using those types of transitional effects. As for the lower thirds, I'm pretty sure full control fixed that this week, as I posted earlier in this thread.

Right now, and more so as time goes on, Master and all of the control rooms will have the exact same abilities.

They're now doing a semi-live edition of EEWC with Carl Parker, which makes for an extra long night for him since he'll also be doing live segments during the 2AM ET hour.

It looks like all of EEWC is going to be live tonight. They've been showing radars and warnings all throughout the show.

In a matter of one minute on today's Forecast Earth, they managed to use both the music for the PME recorded teaser when going to break and the music for the Ski Conditions segment where the Star overlays local conditions.

Also, recent episodes of Forecast Earth have been making use of those massive screens hanging from the ceiling of the control room that I mentioned earlier. In these segments, Dr. Forbes stands next to the massive screens while the screens show relevant video. I may be mistaken, but I think I might have seen some camera inputs from the HD studio on a few monitors in the control room.

Nope, I'm watching Weekend View this morning and the lower thirds are still lower than they are on master control.

Not here. I'm not seeing the lower text being partially covered by the LDL.

Now we have Carl Parker working the extra 4 PM CT hour of Weather Center solo. I wonder why Warren and Kristin couldn't work this hour? They only worked two hours (2 and 3 PM CT), and normally on days that WWC is extended to 4 PM CT they would be able to host that extra hour.

Since the preemption was finally authorized for today, they've jumped into a strange solo-OCM schedule that seems to be on a three-hour rotation, much like the pre-Sept. 2006 schedule. Kristin Dodd, after working the 2 PM CT hour of WWC solo, is back on solo for the 5 PM CT hour of PME.

Are you sure Kristin and Warren were paired today? Every hour has seemed to be solo-OCM to me. I think Warren was solo for the 3 PM CT hour of WWC. Does anyone know who did the 1 PM CT hour?
