They've actually animated that 4-split key at least 70% of the time they've used it since all of the other keys went still in Dec/Jan. Same goes for the 4-split on EE.

Okay, that was a weird start to EEWC...

Sharon: "...a few weeks ago when the first [audio started skipping] rou rou rou rou rou rou rou rou [audio stops skipping] round of..."

I know. That scared the you-know-what out of me when I first heard that.

They're doing live segments all four hours tonight, so at least we won't have to deal with that again. :P

A few minutes ago, Paul Goodloe even got into the EEWC action when he ran a new tornado warning over to Rich. It sounded like when Paul was approaching Rich, Rich said, "Seriously?" (As if he couldn't believe another warning just got issued)

I first saw it used in Sept. 2007. It's used less frequently than the mini lower thirds on other shows.

Heres a similar one used on EE:

Still live coverage on EEWC for the Weekly Planner at 12:20 AM ET.

They didn't mean to do that, though. Someone accidentally sourced SkyTracker instead of WPS; now they'll probably go live at 1:20 CT or just use the 12:20 segment at 1:20.

Speaking of the Weekly Planner, the Weekly Planner opener at :20 was completely silent.

I noticed that. It wasn't completely silent, though (I heard it wearing headphones), just extremely low.

I've noticed that TWC is now doing some "Tornado Minute" segments, much like how they did the Hurricane Minutes last year for the '07 Hurricane season.

It looks like they've decided to quit the live broadcasts.
