This is the first time I can remember that TWC sent out updated guide data for storm coverage.

I noticed that too. Kinda odd.

EDIT: Who wants to bet Cantore will have another "thundersnow" moment while in Boston? :P

I think he has a great chance of experiencing it again.

Wow, TWC is going to have their hands full over the next few days as there is a severe threat and another winter storm behind "Nemo."  Let's hope they give all these systems the appropriate amount of coverage.

These are the times in which TWC nearly becomes worth watching for hours on end once again.  Add in some 2-minute LF's or perhaps more classic LF music and you might be able to strike out the "nearly."

EDIT: According to TWC's lightning tracker, there's some lightning going on near Long Island, overlapping radar-indicated snow.  This could by thundersnow after all.  Cantore's not there, though; he's in Boston covering the storm there.

Looking at some tweets on a news article, it looks like a lot more people and websites are referring to this NE winter storm as "Nemo."  Perhaps people have warmed up to the idea of naming winter storms, or perhaps this one was so big that they felt a name associated with it was necessary.

I bet TWC is going to be happy with their ratings this time around...

However, packaging rebroadcasts as "live"... that's just not kosher.  If the word "live" is in a program title, viewers expect it to actually be a live broadcast.
Well if you think of it there are other shows have "Live" in the title and are not necessarily live. Examples include "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Emeril Live"

You also have a good point about TWC always having taped broadcasts. This held true even as recent as the Evening Edition era as the 2-4am hours were a reprise of 12-2am.

I'm sorry, but The Weather Channel is disgusting me right now.  Can anyone give me a reason as to why this winter storm is not named yet?  I know I'm still hesitant on the idea in the first place, but they've named every other trace of snow out there, so why not this?

TWC's bias in focusing on the Northeast is painfully obvious today.  The storm won't hit there until tomorrow night!  Why not focus on the present first?!

I don't like the updated 7 Day Forecast graphics.
The whole fake CGI wall with the lights at the bottom is cheesy and the angle of the map is annoying as is that light flare on the top left. The ocean color is creepy.

Yikes!  I think I just threw up a little.  I hope TWC doesn't make all their graphics look like this.

They sure do seen to like angled maps and flares a lot.

Don't you like thrill rides?   I've seen local TV stations use similar views when the meteorologists are doing their forecasts on remote from local events such as fairs and the like.  I guess TWC's lowering itself to their level.  I agree wholeheartedly about the ocean color, but I guess they did it to differentiate the normally-blue water from the always-blue 30°'s to 40°'s temperature range.
