For those complaining about the coverage, here are some numbers to wrap your heads around:

Hourly breakdown of Irene coverage:
Live weather coverage: 42 minutes (70%)
Commercials: 18 minutes (30%)

Hourly breakdown during normal coverage:
Live weather coverage: 32 minutes (53%)
Commercials: 18 minutes (30%)

Did anybody see those IDIOTS that drove up waving on air during Eric's live shot? He got really pissed off about that saying how stupid they were being for being out in the storm.

Is that shot posted on weather.com? One segment of him reporting is on weather.com, and it makes me just as mad as he is to see these idiots driving around during the storm, boarding up during the storm, and supposedly sitting outside watching the storm?!?! Seriously, how stupid can some people be?

I was able to record it, that's how I saw it. Not even an hour ago he said how disheartened he is to see so much traffic.

Here's a clip of that btw. I was gonna post an attachment of that part only, but it was taking awfully long time to attach. (skip to around 1:40)

And as far as the commercials, I don't think TWC will ever cut them down. It would be nice to go straight from live coverage to the traditional LF, but I think the commercials have to stay. <_<

TWC has to pay the bills.  :P

EDIT: I admire Eric keeping his composure and professionalism on air, he just had more idiots dancing and streaking around in the storm. :itsok:

What the :censored: :censored: was the deal with the live shot of some local news guy in RI and all the kids sitting on a wall behind him? Did anyone else see it; think it was around 1 PM ET.

Although they weren't in the middle of a storm, it's so darn distracting to see all the people who want their 10 seconds of fame, waving, and doing whatnot. <_<

Still lots of traffic behind Eric Fisher at 3PM in VA Beach. They don't seem too concerned apparently.

I guess there are just some people who like to be outside to experience extreme conditions firsthand.

I remember one day a few years ago when I had to go to work during one of the strongest blizzards in Massachusetts in a long time.  I had to open the store, and I walk, so I left early, and that was probably the hardest walk of my life.  The number of customers who somehow managed to drive to the store in barely-plowed streets and whiteout conditions (!) was staggering.  None of our staff wanted to come, though, so we opened five hours late.  But we apparently would have done quite a lot of business had we opened on time, because nothing was stopping our customers from coming in the anticipation of shopping!

Some people like to go shopping during major storms because they figure the stores will be less crowded, provided they're open. I've gone grocery shopping during snowstorms for that reason, then again the store is less than a mile from me. It's still not worth going out if it's too dangerous.

Andy if you lived in MA, like i do you would notice RI residence and especially SE MA residents love getting fame on the news, especially with a storm like this coming up the coast. so i don't see that RI incident as totally shocking

I'll be uploading a couple of WeatherScan Clips on Irene on her affects on New England and they should be up by hopefully Monday (if my power goes out)

The LDL is blue now

This happened on more than one occasion, I saw it blue several hours before this, but when they returned from a break it was red again. I don't remember what time during the day this was though.
