I think TWC might have adjusted the lighting for the green screen.
You might have noticed when the OCMs would stand at some places at the green screen area they would get a purple tint on them.
Now it seems that is gone and there is more of a blue light casting on them.

They may be using the 'back-up" green screen.

I noticed the SD IS LDL and national HD feed LDL are still being displayed during taped programming.
The LDL colors are still in storm mode even though the holidays and major storms are over.
Anyone know if it is going back to only on during live programming?

Here's the article they were trying to post.
1/4/13 was the 5th anniversary of the first reporting that Landmark wanted to sell TWC.

I noticed today has been officially 10 years since Storm Stories debuted. First episodes came out on 1/6/03. They are showing an episode right now on WPVI of all stations :o

Ha!  Funny that you mention this. I noticed Storm Stories was on one of the local stations here and got confused, but now I have figured out why.  I even thought it was TWC I was watching at first, but no, they have to show non-weather longform like Iron Men.

Strangely enough, the SS re-runs were being shown on a CBS-affiliate here, so that's a little surprising.  Figured it would have been on NBC.

The syndicated version of Storm Stories is distributed by Litton Entertainment.
WABC's 7.2 sub channel airs it on weekdays.

As of today the LDL is back to being off on long form programming.

AFAIK, only the Towers version of Storm Stories is available for syndication. The syndication for SS began in 2008, before the rebirth of SS in 2009 by Peacock Productions.

Checking the guide for WABC 7.2 the Storm Stories episodes being broadcast are from 2003 trough 2009 seasons.
