"Sandy was Jersey's Katrina"

This was a very bold statement for Jim Cantore to make... I'm not sure how I feel about this....

If we go by the perceived impact, I can see some reasoning behind this claim as people in New York and New Jersey haven't witnessed this kind of devastation in a long while.  However, if we go by the Meteorology and the big picture, there's absolutely no comparison here.  If Sandy was a major hurricane, then we would be on a more level playing field with this claim.

Sandy may not have been a Cat 3 or higher by title, but it certainly had the barometric pressure to make it a major hurricane and I think the damage does translate more to what a Cat 3 would do than a Cat 1 would do. That's just my opinion though.

For a 940 mb hurricane, I wouldn't say Katrina but definiteily one that resembled a major hurricane. People here were prepared and evacuations went smoothly and quickly. I am very glad people actually took no chances with this storm. Sandy ought be a lesson for people to leave if danger is imminent.

I would guess so. I certainly haven't seen it before. It matches the new LOT8s bug on the LDL during longform shows.

IMO that new show title graphic looks awful  I liked the old one better.

I like the new one... I just think they need to tweak the LDL a little bit. Of course I'd rather see a radar from the IS2 on there when the LDL is on, but take what ya can get.

Do you mean Weekend Outlook? Weekend Planner was discontinued in 2005; there was never an 05-08 version.

There is no way in hell they will get rid Abrams or Roker. Please, can we just accept the fact that they are here to stay? As long as they get the ratings, they will continue to host their shows. I don't how many times this topic has been whined about and discussed, but I'm sure it's far too many.

The facts as I see them are: 1) Hiring Abrams and Roker was the wrong decision, and 2) It's unlikely TWC will change their minds about it. The presence of number two doesn't change number one in any way, shape, or form. They detract from the network, and that's that. It doesn't mean we have to like it. If we were being tortured or beaten all the time and there was little hope of changing it, should we then like it? Should we not mention how miserable our condition is? Should we chastise others who dare mention it? Although actual torture is much worse than having your favorite TV network devalued, my post does demonstrate the general point. As for "TWC: love it or leave it", why not take a third option and try to improve TWC? Will my complaining change anything? Probably not. Will your lack of complaining change anything? Certainly not. At least I let my opinion be known, which, though not much, is more action than I can say most people here have taken in recent years. And for your information, I generally avoid watching Abrams or Roker because I don't like them. One can both accept something's existence, dislike it, and complain about it all at the same time  .

How sappy of them. Perhaps they could focus on reporting on the weather and/or Sandy's aftermath  .

They have all day, and still are except for the concert. All of the networks of NBCUniversal broadcast it. For you to say that is incredibly insensitive and offensive. I've learned to respect your opinions, but this is going to far. How dare you. I don't know if you're in an area that was ravaged by this Superstorm, but I'm, as well as a lot of people here, have been affected by this storm. I'm lucky I didn't experience any power outage or the like, but a shittonne of people in NJ and NY experience massive damage. Learn to have some respect and compassion for other people's opinions, because you, kind sir, have pissed me off and offended me immensely.

Glad i saw TWC is going to replay the concert at 11pm tonight (CNBC too) my heart goes out to everyone affected by Sandy.
