November 19 (my birthday :D)

It was a pretty chilly start to the day. But once out the door it warmed up pretty quickly.
Today will be sunny with a high of 79 degrees. Tonight's low will be in the low 40's so I will be needing that snuggie again! :P

December 3

Special Weather Statement issued for our area...

Quote
Issued by The National Weather Service
Phoenix, AZ
4:37 am PST, Thu., Dec. 3, 2009

... VERY COLD AND DRY CONDITIONS FRIDAY NIGHT WITH A CHANGE TO MUCH WETTER WEATHER EARLY NEXT WEEK...

A WEATHER DISTURBANCE AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT MOVING SOUTH THROUGH THE ROCKIES WILL USHER IN COOLER AND MUCH DRIER AIR TO THE REGION TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY. ON FRIDAY NIGHT... THE COMBINATION OF VERY DRY AND COOLER AIR ALONG WITH LIGHT WIND WILL CAUSE TEMPERATURES TO LOWER INTO THE 30S... OR EVEN BELOW FREEZING... OVER MUCH OF THE ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA DESERT. SOME FORECAST LOW TEMPERATURES FOR SATURDAY MORNING INCLUDE 37 AT PHOENIX... 32 AT IMPERIAL... 31 AT GILA BEND... AND 29 AT BOTH CASA GRANDE AND BLYTHE.

AT THIS TIME... FORECAST LOW TEMPERATURES WILL FALL SLIGHTLY SHORT OF FREEZE WARNING CRITERIA. HOWEVER... CONDITIONS WILL BE BORDERLINE AND DESERT DWELLERS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION SHOULD A FREEZE WARNING EVENTUALLY BE NEEDED.

THE VERY DRY AIRMASS WILL SOON BE REPLACED BY A MUCH MORE HUMID ONE... AS A LARGE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPING OVER THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST BEGINS TO SPREAD SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE INTO THE AREA LATER THIS WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE LOW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE SOUTHEAST AND ACROSS ARIZONA MONDAY INTO TUESDAY... PRODUCING SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER THE LOWER DESERT... AND NUMEROUS SHOWERS OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN EAST OF PHOENIX. AT THIS TIME THE BEST CHANCES FOR RAIN APPEAR TO BE MONDAY NIGHT... AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS NORTH AND EAST OF PHOENIX.

UNSETTLED CONDITIONS APPEAR LIKELY THROUGH THE LATTER PART OF NEXT WEEK... AND HIGH TEMPERATURES SHOULD STAY BELOW SEASONAL NORMALS DURING THAT TIME.

STAY UP-TO-DATE ON THE LATEST FORECASTS BY LISTENING TO WEATHER RADIO ON THE PUBLIC SERVICE BAND. MORE DETAILED INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX

We can expect a super cold Friday ahead...

Today was a cold start...with a temperature of 40 degrees.
Today is expected to reach into the mid 70's.
Tonight expect the low to dip down to the 30's.  :brr:

Quote
Issued by The National Weather Service
Phoenix, AZ
4:04 pm PST, Sat., Dec. 5, 2009

... RAIN IS EXPECTED MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT WITH SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL AMOUNTS EXPECTED IN PORTIONS OF SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA...

A WET PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE EAST ACROSS THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE OF SHOWERS DEVELOPING FROM SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA TO SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE HALF INCH OR GREATER ARE POSSIBLE FROM JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK EAST ACROSS RIVERSIDE COUNTY... LA PAZ COUNTY... AND SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA INCLUDING THE GREATER PHOENIX AREA.

THE MOST SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL IS EXPECTED IN THE UPSLOPE AREAS OF SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA NORTH AND EAST OF PHOENIX WITH 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN AND ISOLATED AMOUNTS OVER 2 INCHES POSSIBLE. SOME FLOODING OF LOW SPOTS AND NORMALLY DRY WASHES IS POSSIBLE.

SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO END FROM THE WEST IN SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA AND SOUTHWEST ARIZONA INCLUDING EL CENTRO AND YUMA LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY MORNING... AND SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA INCLUDING THE GREATER PHOENIX AREA TUESDAY.

SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO GENERALLY BE QUITE HIGH IN OUR AREA... ABOVE 65 HUNDRED OR 7 THOUSAND FEET WITH THIS STORM SYSTEM. THE SNOW LEVEL COULD BRIEFLY START OUT AT 45 HUNDRED FEET IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK LATE SUNDAY NIGHT... BUT THERE IS ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS THAT EARLY. ALSO... THE SNOW LEVEL IS EXPECTED TO DROP TO NEAR 5 THOUSAND FEET IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN NORTH AND EAST OF PHOENIX TUESDAY. HOWEVER... THE SHOWERS WILL BE TAPERING OFF AT THAT TIME. AS A RESULT... LITTLE SNOW IS EXPECTED WITH LESS THAN AN INCH ACCUMULATION.

STAY UP-TO-DATE ON THIS UPCOMING STORM BY LISTENING TO WEATHER RADIO ON THE PUBLIC SERVICE BAND. MORE DETAILED INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE AS THIS WET PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM DEVELOPS.

Lows will stay in the 30's...yes pretty coooold!

.. VERY WET WEATHER CONTINUES TO BE FORECAST FOR SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA... SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA INCLUDING PHOENIX... YUMA... EL CENTRO... IMPERIAL... AND GLOBE FOR MOST OF THIS COMING WEEK...

A MAJOR CHANGE TO VERY WET WEATHER CONTINUES TO BE FORECAST FOR THIS COMING WEEK AS A VERY STRONG LOW LATITUDE JET STREAM ACROSS THE PACIFIC SENDS A SERIES OF VERY WET PACIFIC STORM SYSTEMS INTO THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES. THE SNOW LEVEL IS GENERALLY EXPECTED TO BE RELATIVELY HIGH... NEAR 6 THOUSAND FEET OR HIGHER MOST OF THIS COMING WEEK... WITH A VERY SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF SNOW EXPECTED IN THOSE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

TIMING IS SOMEWHAT UNCERTAIN... BUT THE FIRST PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD RAIN EAST ACROSS THE AREA MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT. RAINFALL... LOCALLY MODERATE... IS EXPECTED IN SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA INCLUDING THE GREATER PHOENIX AREA MONDAY NIGHT. A SECOND STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BRING THE LIKELIHOOD OF RAIN AGAIN AS WELL AS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH STRONG GUSTY WINDS BY TUESDAY NIGHT. YET... ANOTHER MORE POWERFUL PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BRING THE LIKELIHOOD OF SIGNIFICANT RAIN AGAIN THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND ESPECIALLY THURSDAY NIGHT. THERE IS ALSO A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH STRONG GUSTY WINDS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND THURSDAY NIGHT WHEN THIS MOST POWERFUL PACIFIC STORM OF THE WEEK MOVES THROUGH THE AREA.

SEVERAL INCHES OF RAIN ARE POSSIBLE THIS COMING WEEK... ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN NORTH AND EAST OF PHOENIX WHERE 5 TO NEAR 10 INCHES OF RAIN ARE QUITE POSSIBLE. LOCALIZED FLOODING OF NORMALLY DRY WASHES... STREAMS... AND LOW LYING AREAS COULD OCCUR IF STORMS CONTINUE MOVING OVER THE SAME AREA FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME. IN ANY CASE... A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THE FLOW OF WATER IS EXPECTED IN NORMALLY DRY WASHES AND STREAMS. IF YOU ENCOUNTER FLOODING OF WATER OVER THE ROAD OR DEBRIS SUCH AS ROCKS OR MUD... TURN AROUND AND FIND ANOTHER WAY TO YOUR DESTINATION.

THE RAIN ON TOP OF A BUILDUP OF OIL AND DUST WILL LIKELY RESULT IN SLIPPERY ROADS THIS COMING WEEK. IF YOU WILL BE DRIVING... BE ALERT FOR SLICK ROADS... SLOW DOWN... AND LEAVE EXTRA SPACE BETWEEN YOUR VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF YOU.

It's going to rain all this week. A series of storms will enter from the pacific and will make it's way towards here in my area. Midterm week is going to be pretty wet.

7 day forecast slightly changed.

We still have chances of rain all week, anywhere between 30-60, which for me is a pretty good chance.

So we were supposed to get a sprinkle out of what it was supposed to be "February's First Storm" but it literally went south of us.  :hmm: That storm would be round 2 of Southern Storms.

There is a chance of rain this Saturday...the day when I move into my new room.

According to my local mets, Saturday's rainfall was about 0.3 inches or so. I thought it was much more since Imperial Avenue was flooded again.

Anyways, no more storms coming through my area this week. I do expect a slight warm up! Highs will be in the 80's coming next week! Spring is so coming early... :)

Sometimes it doesn't take much with the ground so wet. Nice 80s  B)
