Not a chance. A high school diploma is a requirement for a tech position.
must be "just got by" high school graduates :P

Personally I don't give a damn what their education level is.  ;)
neither do I as long as they know how to do what they need to do, and do it right. Then I'll happily sign the form that says the job is done properly.

When I get digital converters for my TV's, would I be able to view GSN on basic cable again on channel 179?

I don't know if it falls in the Digital Classic or the Digital Starter package, but I'm sure if you have both of those packages then yes, you will.

I only have Expanded Basic cable here. I actually just checked Comcast's website and GSN is available on digital expanded basic channel 179.

I just hope Weatherscan will still be on basic 120 when I install converters to my TV's...

your Comcast must be different than mine because my Expanded service doesn't have GSN or Weatherscan

Yes, the Bensalem headend has had Weatherscan and GSN on basic for quite sometime now. Comcast of Cherry Hill however has the same exact channel lineup as your headend in Audubon. The only difference is the IntelliStar ID# (mine is 21872).

You won't get neither Weatherscan nor GSN with a converter. The only channels they'll allow you to get are OTA (local) channels.

He's talking about the ones from the cable company... not the digital OTA converters.

Yes, those were what I was referring to. Comcast has offered us to purchased their converters to get the exp. basic channels that were removed from the analog feed.

Starting Nov. 1, we can get one converter for free. Not sure how much additional ones cost, we would need three for this house.

they shouldn't be more than $7.95 a month each... if they are, they're ripping you off. according to the pamphlet of price changes it's like $3.70 a month each for a digital converter in my area as of November 1.

With my box, I'm now getting channels like GSN and PCN, but no Weatherscan. How come? It's available on basic here, so why can't I get it with my box when I can without it?

Hi Comcast! Still waiting for my TWC HD here... Other Chicago headends have it, why can't the Rolling Meadows headend get it...
