Cool beans.  I was looking into TiVo when the cable digital conversion is done, but now I've thought more about going with a custom PC setup with HDTV stick since the only HDTV content I really need is already clear QAM HD locals.

Yeah, it's pretty cool having pure digital channels, helps out when capturing, too.

Okay, I think this question may of been asked many times, but I just want to clarify. If I get a Digital TV or tuner, will I still be able to view channels ~30-125 (without a STB) after Comcast stops sending analog signals here (which should be by the end of the year)?

Looks like Comcast removed WYBE-TV from analog cable here; I'm not getting a signal.

The last time I checked from our Comcast, theres still no sign of either TWC HD or WeatherScan.  :angry:
 
Plus, the recent channels they dropped off of our analog lineup are:
C-SPAN 2 (dropped since last November)
MTV 2 (same time when C-SPAN 2 was dropped)
SoapNet (I think they dropped it since earlier this Spring)
National Geografic (dropped last Summer)
ION (dropped around the same time)
ETWN (same time)
 
I'm really ticked off that they dropped C-SPAN 2. Its even better than Fox News! Plus, Cubscast here is still blacking out some of my Cardinals games.  :censored:

Well, TWC HD is not available yet here, but according to a TV guide we seem to have received from Comcast in the mail a couple months ago, TWC is planned to be on Channel 245, which is pretty low from what I have seen.

This is why Comcast does indeed suck, their reception is really awful at times. Sadly there aren't any other cable companies around except AT&T (which has no star) and then there's Satellite which noone in my family wants.
