Tabs and Mobile Layout Questions
« on: September 10, 2011, 06:59:25 PM »
TABS
Before a forum upgrade, we had tabs that said "Today" and "Classics," which allowed us to easily navigate to the home page of each site. I do not see these when I am logged in, however I do see them when I log out. Don't know what the issue is here, but it would be nice to see these brought back, if possible.

MOBILE LAYOUT
Are the forums no longer available in "mobile layout" (i.e. for the iPhone) anymore? I remember this being an option under "Look and Layout," but it is no longer there.

Thank you! :)

Weird. I see both tabs when I'm logged in.

Tried logging out and logging in and I'm having this same issue as well where those tabs only show up when I log out.

I see both Today and Classic tabs just fine whether I'm logged in or out. :dunno:  Are you all using a different forum theme?  If not, maybe the permissions for those tabs weren't set to all members, but I'll need Martin's or Jesse's help to find where that setting could be.

Andy, I don't see a mobile phone layout unless Martin needs to install that theme, but you can use this link to access our "mobile-friendly" counterpart:

I finally found the settings for those tabs after some serious digging around in the administrative settings!  They were only set for administrators, moderators, and guests by default after the upgrade.  I have changed it so that everyone, including all members, can see the tabs.  Please let me know if you can see them now. :)

Great!  The mobile version of the forums was lost during the upgrade and has to be re-downloaded by someone else who knows more about this process than myself.  However, did you see the link I provided as that's mobile-friendly?

The mobile version of the forum is not supposed to have tabs

Is this the mobile version you guys speak of? https://twctodayforums.com/forums/index.php?wap2

There was actually a mobile theme for the forums before the upgrade, which was something separate.  However, that's the link I was referring to when talking to Andy.

Sorry Patrick, I seemed to overlook the link you provided above. That link shows pretty much of what I'm talking about. The actual mobile theme had the same layout pretty much, just an upgraded font and such.
