Gary, do you think we could ever be able to do something similar to the Local Across the 48's? It would be a great way to obtain a whole lot of contributions! And it would be interesting what the weather is like across the nation at the given moment.

I actually threw this idea to Gary a few months ago. He said something about waiting a few months to see if we'd get any more members around here...

I'd really like to do something like The Local Across The 48s.

Yep we're going to try it. I'm not sure yet what the date will be, but when I decide I will announce it. It will probably be in the evening one day this week, as many folks are busy during the day on weekdays and on weekends. Also, I'll have to talk to Chazz first as well to make sure that he doesn't mind us imitating his idea.

It'll be great if we have a Local on the 48s! I don't know how to connect my recorded  lf video to the computer though. :sad:

What kind of TV Tuner is the best to use? People can't contribute without some sort of video capturing device.

i plan on using my camera with the video feature and just overlap the no audio with music of some sort. lame way of doing it but oh well  :D

Gary, have you gotten a hold of Charles regarding doing a Local Across the 48s yet?

I think if we do indeed have one, we should have a poll regarding what day/time it should take place since we would want as many people as possible participating in this. Also when we do choose a time, I think we should have a backup time the same day so that if, for example the STAR doesn't queue and we see a satellite local forecast, we can get everyone together to record another local forecast.

A well-placed TrammellCast, coincidently at the precise time we do this, would be great. Just no Satellite outage, please.  :(

I'm talking about regular satellite, such as those in DirecTV and Dish.
