For those wondering where the morning playlist is, it's currently playing on wuwa - In The Light - DC Talk at 9:58am EDT. other songs like jung at heart and andromeda played on wuwa the past couple days.

Okay, have the special WUWA lists been discontinued? They havent had special coverage in awhile nor preemption, yet playlist music is still playing...

I have been wondering the same thing. I certainly hope they discontinued them. I would rather them stick with the non-vocal music playlists.

If they did, maybe they lost rights to the artists they were using.

Yeah, I prefer it this way too. It sounded really weird to hear top 40 music on the Weather Channel.  :P

Me too. While they did play an occasional good tune, the vocal music got old and annoying. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come though. If TWC is indeed sticking to only 2 LF's per hour, then the WUWA playlist would be pointless

Update on the WUWA LF situation

The WUWA full-screen locals had suspended playing the music with vocals during recent hurricane coverage. The producers felt that pop/vocal songs were not appropriate during hurricane coverage. At this time, it is uncertain whether WUWA will stick with instrumentals or switch back to vocals.

Emailed Ms. Medori again this morning and the November songs should be airing on WUWA now instead of the continued September/October list.. however, she also gave me official confirmation that vocals are indeed gone from WUWA.

Quote
Hi Zach,

Thank you for your note. We actually stopped playing vocals during “Wake Up With Al” during Hurricane Irene. At the time, we replaced the WUWA tracks with songs from our regular playlist and when November music started, this was not included. This has now been fixed. I appreciate it.

Have a great weekend,

Melissa

Well this looks like a great idea and also a bad idea. I hope they don't have her up there forever, but I won't go to much into that until we get to see how it actually plays out. Glad to see TWC doing different things, though.  :thrilled:
