Was that pic taken during Gustav? Were NBC and TWC negotiating at that time?

The rerun of WUWA won't bother me either way. I almost always watch The Today Show in the morning, so I still "wake up with Al".

TWC was still owned by Landmark at the time, although they did start sparingly show NBC reports when the buyout was announced in July.

Al did a weather walk stating a willy willy is a sandstorm in Australia when in fact it's a tropical cyclone in the Australia area.

Yes, it used to go by both meanings due to a terminology conflict:  The United States National Weather Service defined it as a hurricane near Australia, but the Australian Bureau of Meteorology defined it as a dust devil.  The American Meteorological Society recently agreed that the willy willy should be used for the dust devil, so scientists around the world are no longer using that term for a hurricane.
