The name woo-wah reminds me of Washington Mutual's shortening of the name to wah-moo.

I am watching the replay of WUAW, and I am not especially impressed.  I think Al's camera man was struggling a little bit with Al's weather segment.  The segments with Steph really aren't that bad.  Al was very rude to Buzz Aldridge by interrupting him.  I did not enjoy the CNBC news update.... the WEATHER channel.  I also just saw an article saying NBCU earnings are down 41%.. imagine that.

One stop for weather/news/financial information = attempt for a ratings pull.  I think it's brilliant (a little different for TWC, but still)...didn't they do news/financial headline stuff on First Outlook or WYT early in the shows' lives?

Seems like the show isn't clicking right...it just seems "off".

The 10am replay is going to seem awkward no matter what because they're trying to throw live updates with Steph in and try to make it seem like it's live when it's not.

All of the LF songs during WUWA are planned ahead of time, with the song title being mentioned on air before many of the LFs.

All of these LF songs during WUWA are mainstream and separate from the usual playlist.

I gave it a chance. I'm glad I got the opportunity to catch it online so I wouldn't have to Tivo it back home.

Sadly, like most people, I was not happy with how the show went. It would've been better if the schedule was kept the way it was and Roker would've stayed out of TWC

Agreed 100% and some of the segments used during that show was spreaded to YWT. I really don't like the part when news is more importante than weather.

Oh, BTW, I'm glad he didnt call me.  :bleh:

Promos: great.

News updates: Expected. I actually had this idea and nearly threw it in my letter to Geoffrey Darby. MSNBC's news presented by someone on Morning Joe, and then your TWC national forecast from Steph/Al/Mike/whoever is working that day. Even a small CNBC Market Wrap-style item with a CNBC anchor for a few seconds with your financial headlines before the markets open.

Premise: BAAAAD. See this blurb from my favorite cable trade mag:

"Since acquiring the Weather Channel in a $3.5 billion deal with Landmark Communications last July, the partners have been retooling the service. The channel had previously been much more focused on straight weather forecasting. The partnership is trying to broaden the programming to encompass storytelling around the subject matter and extend into long-form shows - one way of getting viewers and advertisers to stick around."

We hope they fail. While it probably is lucrative for advertisers....no way.
