Well, to be technical, in this case Igor is a he since Hermine was a she(if you didn't know, the names alternate he/she).  I thought a couple weeks ago with a name like Igor, that's something to watch out for and it may be a scary one.

It always seemed funny to me that you get a bigger LDL during some (but not all) weather programming (more weather info with more weather info), but during longform programming, the smaller one (less weather info with less weather info).  I know the big LDL would be quite annoying during longform, and don't think it should have been used during longform, just seemed funny.

That's what I thought at first, but it included cities on the Gulf and the West Coast as well.

I noticed last night that the radar in the "ad" space was only showing coastal cities, moving clockwise down the east coast, across the south, then back up the western US.  Anyone else notice this, and know why it was only coastal cities?

No, you are using your iphone.

If buffalo don't have wings, what does Buffalo Wild Wings really serve?

Hurricane mode huh? So are we going to hear "We are in Hurricane Mode" in every other sentence instead of "We are in Storm Alert Mode?"

According to the latest advisory, Earl is now moving almost due North (355 degrees, 5 degrees west of due north).  Looks like NC will be spared from the main brunt of the storm, still may be looking at hurricane force winds on the coast however.

Yes, Ed Rappaport, deputy director of NHC, just reported on TWC a pressure of 932mb from the aircraft.  Pressure at advisory was 941mb.

According to CNN's Chad Myers, aircraft reported wind speed of 177 mph in the eyewall of the storm, which means winds of at least 145 mph at the surface now, although not officially in the advisories.  It will be interesting to see wind speeds are officially upgraded at the 11:00 PM EDT advisory, or with a special statement sooner.
