Indeed. I was in California in 2005 and if you've been to Crescent City near the OR border, you will definitely see Tsunami Evacuation route signs around town. That city was hit by a big tsunami from the magnitude 9.2 1964 Alaska Quake.As some of you or may not know, debris from the Japan tsunami is starting to wash up all around the Pacific coastline. Here is a photo I took of a pile of debris that I found while walking from my new house to the beach. I'm guessing someone else found this debris on the beach and then moved it up inland and made this pile next to intersecting trails. Pretty interesting stuff here IMO...on a related note, do u guys have to purchase tsunami insurance? Seems like your area is more Tsunami prone than elsewhere in the Continental US due to it's proximity to the Cascadia Subduction Zone, not to mention Alaska and waves coming from Chile or Japan
Not exactly. Even though our area is tsunami-prone like you mentioned, the chances of a big tsunami hitting this area is very slim at this point IMO.
Hmm... I still wouldn't doubt the chance of a tsunami. The people in Japan didn't think it would happen to them, look where they are now. The west coast is over-due for a large earthquake or tsunami though.

Zach and Mike: I think you all have overlooked the following bolded part in that post that Martin made about the new Game Room rules. (It's found in the third paragraph.)I don't understand why this is such a big deal (especially if it hasn't happened lately). Feel free to critique but I don't think it's right for the members to be warned about every little thing just by posting here. That is just creating an atmosphere where people may be more afraid to post and in turn decrease more activity, particularly at a time when most active members are not tuning into TWC anymore.QuotePosting restrictions here are those that govern the entire forum (see the forum rules thread in the news board). For those of you who are new and may not understand the rule, we had a problem with this a couple of years ago, so this is how we're trying to resolve it. Hope that helps you guys.
