OCMs & Personalities / New OCM - Crystal Egger
« on: July 01, 2010, 04:07:28 PM »
In it's Wednesday newsletter www.newsblues.com (subscription required) reported that Crystal Egger from KDVR in Denver has been hired as TWC's newest OCM. On the KDVR facebook page http://www.facebook.com/fox31denver they mentioned that today (7/1) was Crystal's last day at the station so I'd imagine we'll see her on TWC fairly soon.

TWC has hired KYW meteorologist Maria LaRosa as a main anchor. The article doesn't say which show she'll be doing but she will be moving to Atlanta soon.

« on: February 03, 2009, 09:59:48 AM »

From Newsblues:

On the same week NBC celebrated “Green is Universal Week” by jetting crews to four distant locations, ostensibly to report on the environment, the Weather Channel, which is owned by NBC Universal, laid off the entire TWC Environmental Unit.

"Forecast Earth" aired weekends and was fronted by former CNN anchor Natalie Allen with contributions from TWC climate expert Heidi Cullen. The staff includes several producers and a photog.

In perhaps the ultimate irony, Allen urged viewers, in her final blog post on Monday, to embrace NBC's "Green is Universal event."

Tipsters in Atlanta says cuts continued yesterday and will most likely exceed the 50 job losses initially reported.

Programming and Graphics / Atmospheres is back!
« on: May 03, 2008, 07:40:22 AM »
I was browsing the weather.com video site map and noticed that TWC added a page for atmospheres videos. Unfortunately, it only contains a few segments, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. I'm also wondering if this could be an indication that the show might return the regular network soon.

Here's the link to the videos:
