I'm extremely surprised that some people here are calling for the L-bar to be permanently displayed, considering how much opposition there was to the expanded LDL, which people said made the screen too crowded already.  I'd personally like the expanded LDL to return at the expense of the L-bar, which has a lot of wasted space (especially in the HD feed).

I didn't care much for the large LDL for the main reason you said about it taking up space, but if I had to choose between the large LDL and the L Bar I would agree with you and choose the large LDL.

Hmm, the big LDL seemed to slip my mind. That would actually work better with the SD/HD trouble, except of course the dreaded sidebar would return on HD.

Since they're using the squeezeback now, I'm assuming this is what they will stick with for awhile, at least.

Perhaps they:
1. don't feel like getting involved with a semi-childish discussion (read, the classic "I'm removing TWC from lineup for [insert reason here])
2. They don't want to make a statement or comment until they have some solid information on the subject.
Check and Check ;)

OK I guess I have to get into this. TWC doesn't do anything without lots of testing and a tooon of focus groups. If they are reducing the amount of locals its because they are getting enough statistical feedback to do so. The average user could care less about the music. In fact most people I know joke about it and dislike it.

We are living in a multitasking sort of life. I can look on my smartphone in about two seconds and find the local forecast for my area. TWC is evolving so that it offers content that is unique and attracts viewers. The new format for lfs offer more information at once to the viewer. And really what is the average viewer loosing my not having a full lf? A screen telling them they broke a temp record? Air quality information? Stuff the average person could care less about.

Now I am not a fan of the change either and I dislike them as much as you all do but posting endlessly about something you can't change is pointless. Make the comment and move on. Non stop speculation and bashing isn't productive. I highly encourage those who are interested in the older days of TWC and how things used to be to discuss it in the classics area or post about some of the things you really liked. No sense in always being so negative.

I'm not trying to be rude at all, in any way, but I'm honestly waiting for someone to say they're contacting a senator.

Lawsuits, trying to call a corporate office... and now petitions? Come on, guys. It sucks, it's annoying, I'm not a fan of it at all... but I honestly think most of you are more mad about the lack of music than the lack of local weather. It's The Weather Channel, not MTV. I've never talked to anyone, ever, that cared about the music they play during the LOT8's (including me) until I found this forum. They want to see the radar and what the forecast is. Let's face it, most of us are diehard TWC fans or we wouldn't care about coming to this forum. The majority of the viewing population is not. The best way to let them know you'd like the LOT8's back is to use their Feedback or Contact Us pages on weather.com.

Again, I'm not trying to be rude... but let's calm down a bit here.
Well said.

FO, YWT, and WUWA never had the L-Bar implemented.

For the first time in weeks, I heard Metameme. I've been wondering why it never seemed to play.

IMO TWC needs to either remove the sunrise/sunset panel or make it into a full almanac panel on the L-Bar. There is no need to see sunrise/set times every eight-to-ten minutes.

Aside from talking about the retarded L-bar, here's a little treat for everyone. I caught this rare report on my IStar  :)

TWC's new ID bumper is up. Will get a video soon (and won't include LF) from the next :57.

Also, I've got a song I need to be ID'd from 8:28pm last night.
That sound is my chair. I haven't oiled it in about a half-year.

You might need iTunes to listen, I don't know about .m4a files, all I do know is it was "Sent from my iPod."
