Mike, don't know if you really this, but for each branch you cut off of a tree, it will grow several more. There will never be a depletion of oxygen.
Yep, that's true. Also, in my backyard, Hurricane Ivan knocked down a HUGE tree (it destroyed our garage, too). And guess what? I'm still alive. :)

Gary, its proven that underground electrical wires ARE less prone to outages from factors such as weather. THey still get surges, spikes,
brownouts, etc.

We have underground utilities here, but just about a quarter mile away, there are some of those big high-power lines, and if you get really close to them, you can hear the electricity buzzing through the lines. :D

Lol. I'd have to weed through the entire internet. I've read many many places that its true though. I know i've read that several times in the newspaper and online as well.

Besides, its just kind of common sense. I mean, its not exposed to the weather, therefor a storm wont knock it out.

But they are exposed to the underground elements...king of which is moisture.

I'm telling you, one is not better than the other. They both have their advantages and drawbacks.

True, pros & cons. But they are not exposed. They are in a plastic pipe, which isolated the wires from anything thats down there.

Moisture can still seep into the plastic piping, and it doesn't take long at all before the cold of winter causes the piping to become brittle and crack, thereby allowing even more moisture in.

Well, they've NEVER had to dig up the wires before. Lets see, this house was built in 1976, so the wires have been down there for 30 years and they've never had problems or needed to dig em up.

And considering you've only been on this planet since 1994 (roughly), how would you have any idea of the history of that house?

Because my parents have lived in this house for 27 years, and they would know

Well let's see....if they've lived there for 27 years, that would put them there in 1980, which leaves 4 unaccounted for years.

Why is it always impossible to have a balanced conversation with you? Probably because you HAVE to be right, even if it means lying and/or exaggerating.  >:(

I find this to be a completely civilized conversation. So unless you have a different definition of balanced, then i see nothing wrong with this convo.

As for the 4 uaccounted years, i highly doubt they would need to be worked on, but you never know.

I find it to be civilized, but very one sided, as most involving you are.
