Yah, but its still something else you have to do. Any extra work is a pain, even if its simple. that why i like Cable. Just plug in the modem and go.
No other equipment, unless yo uchoose to have a router, etc.

Pffft. Not having to add a couple of filters does not justify the higher cost. It takes a few seconds to do, and very seldom causes problems.

I'd rather pay more for less equipment, faster speeds, and fewer problems. but thats just me.

Hopefully our internet problems are solved for good.
Well, I jinxed it. It went down again tonight. <_< We removed it, and plugged the DSL line back in to the phone jack again, and the internet came back up. Tomorrow, we'll buy a splitter and try that to see if it'll work. Hopefully it does.

Pfft. Again, there's no justification. There are seldom ever problems, two tiny little filters, and the speed difference is little (I know, I've used both services concurrently, and saw little difference between the two).

Yeah, I would definitley get a splitter. That's how I have mine set up, and I've had no troubles at all.

Just a question - should I be able to plug the DSL cable directly in to the splitter, and then plug the filter into  the splitter as well, and then plug the telephone into the filter. Would that work? Because, from that filter's installation directions, any telephone equipment needs to be on a filter (except for the DSL modem).

Here's what you do-plug the splitter into the phone jack. You will now have two phone jacks instead of one. Then, plug the DSL modem ONLY into one of those jacks, and plug your telephone cord w/the filter attached into the other jack. That's it!  8)

Gil, what are you talking about?  I have had DSL for years with no problems.  So what, you have to have a filter on all the phones?  Does it really take a monkey's :censored: to put them in?  What's wrong with $20 for 1500?

Go pay $40 bucks a month yourself

Just more trouble thats uneccessary work. For me, I'd rather pay $40-$50 a month. thats just me. Plus, its better in terms of quality
and speed. i'd say its well worth it.

No problem!

Gil, are you that dense? There is NO work to it at all, there is NO speed difference at all.

Yep. All you've got to do is make the simple connections, and your done. You (Gil) seem to make it sound like it's hard as pulling teeth to do that.

Yes, speed is total difference. We are very far from the central office or whatever,  so it woul dbe pretty slow. with cable,
it doesnt matter where you are.

My cable speeds are often around 22 MBPS Down, so im find with that.
