Now, I'm thinking that the filter may not be the problem (or the only problem). My DSL has been going on and off all night. :censored:

Well, it was at least part of the problem. Don't put a filter on the modem line, under any circumstance.

Ugh, that Honda commercial with the cartoon character is back. This is the fourth year in a row that they are showing this. I can't stand it!  <_<

My dad has an HP desktop that he got 5 years ago, and its still considered Top-Of-The-Line technology today.

Granted, it cost $1300, but its still pretty awesome

That's not top of the line Gil. don't fool yourself. Do you have any idea what a top of the line computer is? Try at least a 4 gig CPU, at least a couple hundred gig hard drive, 2-3 gigs of RAM, DVD Burner. Your father's PC is mid-level, at best.

What I mean is, up until very recently (about 1 or 2 years ago) it was concidered a VERY good machine. Just recently did they make
multiple hundred GB hard drives top of the line. Its still concidersed standard.

I'd consider a top-of-the-line computer today to have the following:

Dual or Quad Core CPU, at least 3GHz clock speed
At least 4 GB RAM
At least 500 GB storage
512 MB graphics
DVD (or Blu-ray/HD-DVD) recorder
