Makes sense. Why not just get rid of the filter all-together and see if it works?

That's what we did. ;) So far, it seems to work good. B) We're now awaiting the new filter (so that we can hook back up the living room phone), and hopefully that works.

I'm surprised they still have DSL. For that matter, I'm shocked that Dial-Up is still around.

I think DSL will still be here for quite sometime. However, I doubt Dial-Up will be around for a while.

Dial-Up should've died years ago. its outdated technology, like DSL. Now its Cable and Fiber Optics :D

Ah, dial-up. I couldn't stand the slowness of it. We had dial-up and AOL until November 2004, and then we finally switched to Comcast Internet. I don't miss having dial-up one bit! :D

They were, but still, they shouldn't have even been made in the first place.

Apparently the filter's not the problem since it just went down again. :censored:

Yeah Gil unfortunately your 1000 posts don't mean much because they were made for quantity, not quality. In fact, you may end up back under 1000 because I have been pruning some of the larger threads all day today, and admittedly most of what I've pruned belongs to you-because much of what you have posted are one word posts or otherwise unneeded posts.

Stephen, DO NOT replace the filter. You do not use a filter on the modem. I assume that you have a splitter on your phone jack so that you can hook up both the telephone and the modem. Put a filter on the telephone line, but do not put one on the modem line. I can't believe that your ISP wouldn't tell you that. The filter is interfering with the modem.
