Due to the security issues being discovered recently on our host server and the fact that the 4th of July holiday is upcoming, I'm postponing Round 3 of the forecasting contest until next week.

The highest temperature I saw for Death Valley was 126°F on Sunday, but we actually did have a rare sight this morning.  The low only managed to reach 101°F.  Meanwhile, my area just had the third wettest June ever, and I've seen 8.00" of rain since June 1 as of now.  I think this summer is completely out of whack. :hmm:

We reached our first 120 degree day here, but I missed it because I was in San Diego visiting a friend. I was lucky enough to skip the heat xD

Ana, would you rather have all my rain instead that could float you away in a flood? :P  The East will gladly trade you for some kind of weather that actually resembles summertime.

As you mentioned in the Spring/Summer discussion thread Patrick, I wish the current weather pattern across the United States could just flip-flop.  The East certainly doesn't need any more rain, while a great deal of the West is still in exceptional drought and begging for every drop possible.

I have tomorrow off, but I have to work on Friday. Also, the weather here has been mainly dry, and areas to my east have been very hot this week. We northwesterners could use some of the rain that you folks in Virginia have been experiencing lately, but try not to give us too much of it  :P

Snow in July?!  No, it's hail!!! :wow:

Honestly, despite the extensive damage that was caused, I wouldn't mind seeing something like this in my lifetime.  How much accumulating hail have you all seen in person before?

I saw that pic on another forum earlier. Personally, I've never experienced hail before in my life. Every time we get a STW that says hail is likely, it never happens. Other than a tornado, it's the only weather phenomena that I have yet to see myself.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

I never see hail fall when we have severe thunderstorms either outside of about three occasions I can remember. The worst being golfball sized hail back on March 15, 2008.
