We only were without power for about 8 days after Ivan hit in 2004. Of course, many other people in the area weren't so fortunate.

The largest power outage that I can think of in Memphis would be the Summer Storm of 2003, where most people (including me) were without power for 3 weeks. That's due to the 100+ MPH winds that the derecho brought forth.

Spokane had a big nasty windstorm in June of 2005, with a record sustained wind speed of 77 miles per hour. That knocked out power for a lot of residents at the time, including me and my folks, which lasted for about 6 or 7 hours.

According to the history data at KGEG, it was only a gust of 77mph, the sustained wind was only 62.1mph.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

Oh, I must have mixed up the gust with the sustained wind. I knew 77 MPH was one or the other. Thanks for the correction.

Only 62.1 mph? That's still one heck of a windstorm. That's around the strongest I've been in - although we never lost power.

Speaking of power outages, there's one right now for where I am. I'm lucky to have power. Traffic lights are out, grocery stores are without power, and so on.

Random Question: Anyone know of any electronic stores that sell good microphones (to use with a desktop) at a reasonable price? :dunno:

Depends on the purpose of it.. are you needing a microphone for a podcast? Do you want a headset mic?
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

For a headset, I would really recommend a USB headset, though do look around since there a bit of those manufactured and definitely read some reviews

I will say that I have been a Chrome user since last year after using both Gecko-based browsers (SeaMonkey and Firefox) and Chrome is really compact compared to both, even with a bunch of extensions installed
