I am without a car for a while.  My transmission is basically shot, and my car is sitting at a random gas station 2 1/2 hours from my house.  My parents are headed up there today to get it with a dolly, and hopefully we can find out exactly what's wrong and (hopefully) get it fixed.
Tomorrow :) Ugh that sucks about your car! :(

This thread is the most active in the entire forum, so it's the only one to reach the 800's so far. :yes:

As a heads-up for everyone, I won't be here next week as I'll be moving on Sunday to Blacksburg and will be setting everything up over the next several days.  You can only imagine how much paperwork I've gone through the last week. :P

Intel Quad Core all the way ;) Or i5/7... depends on how much money you want to fork out.

I am picking up a Macbook Pro soon for college. Definitely go with an i7. It will be worth it in the long run.

Btw for folks who are just recording clips from a DVR, just pick up a video recorder for about 30bucks. No sense in getting a tuner if you don't need it ;)

Oh believe me, I want an i7. Problem is, I can only find one computer with it. Period. A $2,000 computer at Staples... which I do not have the money for. I found a decent computer for the same price I bought my current laptop, with an i5... would that work for what I do with it? I'm curious as to why the computer is that much cheaper. Other thing is too... isn't this the first year that Intel's "i series" has been out? I've always been told it's not a good idea to buy technology that is in its first year.

There's the same laptop I saw at Staples, HP Envy, for about $300 less. Still a lot of money. I may have to stick with HP if they are going to give me a ticket for a new computer.

I will be on my own again, but my family won't be too far away.  I have an aunt and uncle living in Blacksburg right now, so they'll help me get acquainted with my new surroundings.  Also, I'm only going to move four hours away from where I am now.

Yea those lemon policies are great if they let you get a new computer. One of the best things about those deals
