Well, tomorrow is a very important part of my flight course, because if I pass this flight examination tomorrow, I will likely have my Private Pilot's license in my hand in about a week or so.  :thrilled: Just trying not to let my nerves get to me.
Good luck, Mac!  Normally, people feel quite nervous just to pass and get a driver's license.  I can't imagine how anxious and nerve-racking it must feel trying to pass and get a pilot's license!

Yay congrats! Flying is a rewarding career that I myself have once considered (but decided it was not for me). Do you plan to work for an airline, Mac?

Congratulations, Mac!  That's quite an achievement. B)

He was only pursuing a private pilot's license, so I don't think he can work at an airline as it would require a commercial pilot's license unless he's wanting to venture further than I think he does.

Thanks for all the congrats, guys! I do not plan to go work for an airline, as my main job passion is still with meteorology, but I do plan to venture into UAS applications (unmanned aircraft, like the drones across the news). To do that, though, I actually have to be instrument, commerically, and multi-engine certified. So technically, I am going through all the courses a commerical airline pilot would have to take. :P

Cool! I wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors.

Back home in AC, they debuted a neat 3D light show on the Boardwalk Hall facade. It's called "Duality" and it uses new light and sound technology with a four projectors mounted on top of Kennedy Plaza across Boardwalk Hall. If you ever come to Atlantic City I highly recommend that you see this free show. It's a year-round attraction and can be seen from nightfall to 2 am. The designs, music and coloring changes every season so I hope to get a better video when fall arrives. Here's a video I took of the show last night:

I was reading AFDs and came across a few that made me laugh. This one from March 18 out of Nashville, though, was kinda disturbing. Wonder what kind of bad day at the office this fella had.

Meebo says bye bye as of tomorrow. I am going miss using this convenient service after 4 years because I always use it in case gmail fails or if I'm online on my phone. Now what other IM clients can I use instead?

RIP MEEBO :( :(

There are several multiplatform IM clients. I use Trillian, but if you don't like that, there's always eBuddy or imo.im
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

I wonder if Mibbit + a public BitlBee server would be an acceptable replacement...

Anyway, I have not used Meebo regularly since 2009. I used to use Pidgin (and later Finch, the text-terminal version of Pidgin), but now I use BitlBee with irssi.

Funny?  Maybe.  That's in the eye of the beholder.  But I think it's grossly unprofessional - that kind of writing has no business being in an official document issued by a government agency.  Does the NWS want people to take it seriously as a meteorological organization, or as a platform for aspiring stand-up comedians?
