Very Fluky game just like 2008, wasn't surprised the Refs would give all the good calls to the Giants
Lol, playing the blame the refs game again eh :bleh:

Sorry, Alex, but the referees are not to blame here.  While the call was correct, it really didn't affect the game.  Here's what really changed the game:  The Giants had three fumbles during the game, and the Patriots recovered zero of them.  During one of those fumbles that the Patriots would have recovered, it was nullified because the Patriots defense had too many men on the field, which was quickly verified on replay with 12 guys counted by the NBC graphics.  I thought it was the biggest mistake of the game even though it was just the first quarter as the Giants scored their first touchdown two plays later to make it 9-0.

The bottom line is that the Patriots committed more severe mistakes at the most critical moments of the game than the Giants did.  You have to make your opponent pay for making errors, and the Patriots simply didn't do it.  They failed to convert when it mattered, and those dropped passes in the fourth quarter cost them dearly.  The Giants did a better job making the Patriots pay for their mistakes and making more critical plays on offense, defense, and special teams.  That's why they won Super Bowl XLVI.

At least your team even made it there and competed well, Alex.  Thirty other teams wished they could have been in your position, and your team has won three Super Bowls in the past decade.  That's still quite an achievement.

Philadelphia sucks... they've only made it to the superbowl twice (1981 and 2005), and didn't win either of them.

Let go Jets! Super Bowl 47!
They've made it to only one Super Bowl and won it.

I'd just like to bring up another point on how criticized people are getting because they're New York fans?!?! I'm not a Giant fan, there are times when I hate the Giants, but that doesn't mean I can't root for them because I'm not a fan. WTH?  :dunno:

It's because most people take sports way too seriously. ;)  They feel like you have to support only your team and no one else despite the circumstances.  I enjoy sports for the strategy and entertainment.  I don't mind interacting with opposing fans as I try to be courteous and respectful to them.  Sure, I may feel bad if my team loses, but it's still just a game.  Life teaches you that lesson very quickly as you get older.

Are you kidding me?!?!!?

The Jets got Tim Tebow! I don't like his passing accuracy but he's good at running the ball. :hmm:

You're not kidding, but they covered up something for three years that they never should have done.  Lying to the commissioner probably doubled their penalties alone.

If there are any hockey fans here, the Stanley Cup Finals will feature the Los Angeles Kings versus the New Jersey Devils starting this Wednesday.  Both teams upset the #1 seeds in their conferences to make it this far.

It is college gameday today. Who is your team? Mine is the ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE, who will take on the MICHGAN WOLVERINES tonight in Dallas (Arlington) at Cowboy Stadium.

P.S. Try to use your teams' colors or the color closest to them (if this forum does not have their exact colors) when typing their name and mascot, if anyone responds to my post.

Anyone else amazed by the horrendous officiating of the Green Bay vs. Seattle game? That last call was, by far, the worst I have ever seen. Green Bay should have won that game, IMO. Hands down.
