I noticed something different about that!  I couldn't pinpoint what it was...I just figured that Studio 1A had a different appearance to the maps compared to Studio 1B

That's the Hurricane Central wall, which is the only key wall in 1A. For some reason, they never bothered to install proper lighting for that key wall, so we're stuck with it until the HD relaunch. The old key walls were in 1B, so they can't use them anymore. It looks like Vivian might be using the key wall in the A&B/WV studio judging by the tight camera angle being used. Either that, or they might have left one key wall in 1B running; Viv is using a wired SkyTracker clicker after all, and I don't think they have those in the A&B studio. If they were in the A&B studio, that would be an annoying trip for the OCMs to have to use a studio so far away from the one they're in. I wonder if they would play Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who has to make the arduous trek back and forth between studios for the entire show.

One cool thing about the Hurricane Central wall is that the OCM there can chat with Dr. Forbes since it's so close to the Expert Desk. Jeff did just that earlier during the Weekly Planner.

They are using the Day Planner backdrop right now on PME, but I have a feeling that may change later on in the show.

They're also using the EE LIVE tag; that should also change later in the show. :P

Yes, I posted that in the Blooper thread. :P

EDIT: You're right - they just changed it to the PME live tag.

Does anyone have a map/floorplan of the current studios and where they are in relation to one another. I remember someone (I think it was Jae) posted one before, but I can't seem to track it down at the moment.

You know what, I have a feeling that the in-house STARs might actually be displayed not only in that room, but also on the monitors next to the Global Forecast Center. Back when the Plasma screen used to be by the GFC, they went to that shot right after an LF, and I could've sworn I saw a 4000 running on one of the monitors. That would also explain monitors lag behind the others; perhaps the feed is delayed by a few seconds on certain STARs?
In the control room today, thinking hard about what I was doing for lunch... and I realised something... The delay you are seeing is the delay between once the camera captures the video, the video goes through the control room, through a video processor, thru master and out to engineering and split off to those monitors. (Those monitors are the final product screen, what ever is on TWC is on that screen.) Hope that helps :P

It's Jae's.

BTW, the light-up map behind the A&B desk is not lit tonight for some reason.

Okay, they're definitely using the key walls in 1B tonight; you can see the characteristic gray/white walls on the side on the HD feed's overscan area because the camera isn't framed right.
