I can only wonder where television goes from here.  I thought "Jersey Shore" was as low as it gets... until Honey Boo Boo came along.

Forecasting The End seems to be the lowest of the low so far.

Basically, TWC is trying to copycat every other news network: more reality/long-form and less live programming  :itsok:

I'm guessing... Idiocracy with a hint of The Running Man?

Next thing you know, prison and/or crime shows will pop up on TWC.  I can see it now: "Weather and Crime," a show that will detail how weather conditions influence crime rates and types.  (I hope I'm not being too realistic here (  :noexpression: ) )

It's a shame TWC would rather produce reality shows that have little or nothing to do about weather instead of producing new episodes of shows they already broadcast that are about weather.

When was the last time a new episode of "Storm Stories" was broadcast?

We are in the minority that still go to the weather channel for weather and weather related programming and are not going to give any time to these bad reality shows like "Iceberg Hunters" and "Reef Wranglers".

And to think that between 6-8 years ago, all the longform we had to complain about was Storm Stories and ICHT/FFN. Given the state of the channel today, even going to those days would be a significant improvement.

SNL did a skit about TWC last night. A few OCMs have posted about it, even though it is clearly making fun of all of the longform they have been running. They also feature Jeanetta Jones for some reason. (Strong language warning)

Ah man, too many great parts to quote em all. I feel pretty bad for Tadd, 2 inches with little to no precipitation. You can't hit a lower blow to a man's pride than that.

What's scary is I could actually see a news network attempting a format like this in the future, as some twisted way of making news more fun. You know, when we reach a point where news can no longer hold anyone's attention because it's all about the reality shows.

It's also like a parody on the origin of soap operas, which started out as nothing more than advertisements.

And... that video was hilarious.

TWC just ran a promo for Weather.com before the LOT8's. That's the first time I've noticed a promo for Weather.com since they basically stopped promoting the weather.com on TV.

They also are preempting taped programming for severe storms in Florida.

If the storms were in New England i would bet taped programming would still air.
