This is nothing new with TWC but I don't get why they don't adjust the lighting when it's very dark.
Tonight is the second night the area of the HD studio they are using is very dark.

Just seems odd the lighting is always different. Sometimes the lighting is good then other times it's very dark and they don't seem to adjust the lighting or camera.

Update, they used the HD studio for some of WCL and it's lit very dark tonight.
I hope they fix it for Friday.

The other thing I've noticed since the work on the HD studio started on Wednesday is,
on Weather Center Live they do almost no forecast segments from the green screen.
No 60 second or 7 Day Forecast.
I wonder if this is just a temporary change in format and when the HD studio is back to normal use they will return.

The thing that hurts this image's composition (that being the Travel Troubles image of Crystal) is the large, bright "mass"-aka the light element of the studio-encroaching on the shadow. It throws balance, contrast, and composition way out of balance. And it doesn't help that the lighting on her isn't great

I've gone back in time...with weather.com!

So maybe it's just my cache again, but I've tried loading the homepage several times with both IE and Firefox, and I get top stories from October 2011!

I saw an truck that had NBC News and Weather Channel on it today on Fowler Avenue.
Hakeem: What's up, Jetsons!
Frank Mitchell: Jetsons?
Hakeem: Yeah, you and George got the same haircut.

I am not sure, but it seemed to be heading west heading towards Nebraska. Maybe it was on its way downtown for the Gasparilla.  :P

Checking Weekend View the studio lighting is a little brighter but still darker that usual.

What's looking real bad is when they show the OCMs from the video wall they are very dark even if the lighting is normal.
Jeff was had almost no lighting on his face from the DMC all morning.
I would think some type of lighting person would be able to fix that.

The area with the clear podium is still very dark and needs to be fixed.

I got a response back from TWC saying they would pass along my comments about the dark studio lighting.

TWC has updated the schedule and will be live to at least 2am ET.
http://www.weather.com/tv/schedule/

Noticed on Friday they had good quality live streaming video from one of the TWC photographers who was driving on a snowy Denver highway.

Not sure what they were using to transmit the feed but did not go out when they were going through underpasses.

Has this been happening frequently? I'm seeing Paul Goodloe, Chris Warren, Crystal Egger, Adam Berg, and Kim Cunningham ALL IN ONE SHOW. This is the first time I'm seeing 5 OCMs in one show with no experts.

Yes, it's been happening for a few months. One OCM does the Social segment, One OCM does Digital Media Center segment, one OCM does weather news and 2 OCMs do the Radar and forecasts.

Amber Alerts show up as an alert from the NWS as well. I guess TWC just added it into their algorithms. Dumb idea if you ask me. I know its meant for good and everything but when you begin to dilute weather alerts with stuff like this it reduces the importance of actual weather alerts.
