I also heard the very end of what sounded like a new Station ID, with new music...however I don't know if it changed to the winter theme because it was on the radio provider when I tuned in.

Yep, it's a new station ID. I was able to freeze frame a DVD recording from this morning and it was indeed a new station ID. However, the radio provider is overlapping the whole segment and the cable provider doesn't show at all

The weather.com local forecasts now use TruVu Max instead of Vizrt

They just show regional forecasts now? What happened to the metro forecast maps, hourly forecasts, and  airport delays they used to show?

It must only be for cities that had the OCMs do the entire forecast for just that city.

Yeah, this has been the case for awhile now, which disappoints me.  There are no more metro forecast maps or hourly forecasts.  What's even more confusing is that the forecast for Dallas is put in the western U.S. section, but then they show a regional forecast for the southeast on the video!

I don't care what the forecast is going to be in NYC, Buffalo, or Pittsburgh... I want the forecast for MY area! What's going on?

These forecast videos, if I recall, have always been based off of the closest major/major regional city.

Not all of them.. certain major cities (Tampa, Atlanta, Philadelphia, NYC, LA, Orlando, Miami, etc) had the OCMs actually do the forecasts dedicated to those areas. I have a video of the style they did for Tampa

Can someone help me find an old clip that aired over the past year or so on TWC? It was this really cool 3D animation showing damage from different EF tornados. I believe it was a graphic of a house. Sound familiar to anyone? Apparently it took over 2 days to render the entire piece!

is it the one with Mark Elliot standing in a 3D key showing the animation of EF damage? The clip is on weather.com/video and search for "Watch what a tornado can do".

Cool clip!  Really good use of the 3D chroma key wall (why isn't Mark Elliot being blown away? :P) and really good animation!

That doesn't look like a 3D chromakey wall.. he may have been out in a field and whoever edited that clip added a graphical touch like in this clip
