Both waves of storms yesterday passed to the south of Daytona Beach, and we barely got a sprinkle from them.  However, it's raining buckets outside right now, and if it doesn't end within the next 20 minutes, I'm going to have a very wet walk to work. :cry:

Beryl's back side is moving through now.

Beryl's backside has been keeping Daytona Beach consistently wet.  It's good for easing the drought, but poor Eric is getting waterlogged bicycling to and from work. :hmm:

It's under a month old, so no wonder why it's never been heard of.. I saw one a couple weeks ago for a day or so, but as of this week, they've been getting issued everyday.. :thinking:

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY RUSKIN FL
112 PM EDT SAT JUL 28 2012

.SHORT TERM (TONIGHT-MONDAY)...
THE WEST COAST SEA BREEZE HAS SO FAR LED TO ISOLATED SHOWERS AND
STORMS ACROSS THE AREA AND WE SHOULD CONTINUE TO SEE ISOLATED
CONVECTION THROUGH THE REST OF TODAY. HIGH PRESSURE CURRENTLY OVER
THE AREA WILL REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. AN UPPER
LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE SOUTHEAST MAY ENHANCE RAIN CHANCES SLIGHTLY
FOR THE FAR NORTHERN ZONES...BUT OTHERWISE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
CONVECTION WILL FIRE UP ALONG THE SEA BREEZE FOR BOTH SUNDAY AND
MONDAY...WITH THE BEST CHANCES NORTH AND INLAND. TEMPERATURES WILL
REMAIN IN THE 90S EACH AFTERNOON.

.LONG TERM (MONDAY NIGHT-SUNDAY)...
A SURFACE RIDGE ACROSS SOUTH FLORIDA WILL PRODUCE A WESTERLY FLOW
ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH THURSDAY AS MID LEVEL TROUGHINESS
EXTENDS OVER NORTH FLORIDA. THAT PATTERN WILL PROVIDE MAINLY
MORNING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE NORTHERN AREAS AND
AFTERNOON CONVECTION OVER THE INTERIOR. AS THE WEEK PROGRESSES THE
SURFACE RIDGE WILL DRIFT NORTH OVER CENTRAL FL AS A MID LEVEL
RIDGE BUILDS OVER THE STATE. THIS WILL LIMIT PRECIPITATION INTO
THE WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES WILL BE SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL THROUGH
THE PERIOD.

&&

.AVIATION...
SCT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH LCL MVFR VSBYS/CIGS ALONG THE
WEST COAST SEA BREEZE WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH INLAND AND WILL AFFECT
TERMINALS FROM PGD TO RSW EARLY THIS AFTERNOON...THEN VICINITY LAL
MID TO LATE AFTERNOON. PREDOMINATELY VFR CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL THE
REMAINDER OF TODAY AND TONIGHT.

&&

.MARINE...
LIGHT WINDS AND SEAS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS
WITH HIGH PRESSURE IN PLACE.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
NO CONCERNS.

Nothing here in Thonotosassa but it's raining here with some thunder. This is the second time it's rained today.

It was pea-sized hail between 3:50 and about 3:55.  Someone indeed confirmed that there was hail in Temple Terrace on Denis Phillips' Facebook page.
