The west coast heat wave continues today as record breaking temperatures are expected in the Sacramento River Valley.
So much so that peak readings may surpass the century mark in the hottest locations.
Today’s forecast high temperature is supposed to reach 101° in Sacramento.
More of the same weather is in store for tomorrow as well.

Here is some interesting weather statistical information regarding low temperatures in the Sacramento area from last night

Record high minimum temperatures were broken in downtown Sacramento, Sacramento Executive Airport,
Redding Airport and Red Bluff Airport on Thursday...

It was a very warm night for most locations in the valley.
This was due to high clouds, a warm air mass and a north wind continuing overnight.
The record warm low temperatures throughout the region were significantly high for late spring.

1. The low temperature in downtown Sacramento on Thursday was 69°.
This breaks the previous record high minimum temperature of 68° set in 1910.

2. The low temperature at Sacramento Executive Airport on Thursday was 72°.
This breaks the previous record high minimum temperature of 64° set in 1976.

3. The low temperature at Redding Airport on Thursday was 74°.
This breaks the previous record high minimum temperature of 66° set in 1987.

4. The low temperature at Red Bluff Airport on Thursday was 75°.
This breaks the previous record high minimum temperature of 67° in 1987.
