THE WEATHER OBSERVATIONS POSTED BELOW AREN'T CURRENT. THEY ARE FROM EARLIER THIS MORNING.Cooler and drier air moved into the northeastern quadrant of the country and is now giving us
our first autumn preview as this summer is quickly coming to a close. Just one week from the first day
of fall, a strong dome of high pressure that brought frosty nighttime conditions to the upper midwest
of the United States last week provided below-normal temperatures over the weekend under clear skies
throughout.
It will be another unseasonably cool and generally clear night in the New York City metropolitan area
during this overnight period. Low readings are expected to bottom out in the mid to upper 40s in
many areas, but around 50 in the city. The coldest spots might dip into the upper 30s as it already has
in Danbury, Connecticut.
