... Dense fog advisory in effect until 11 am EST this morning...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 11 am EST this morning.

* Locations... western Suffolk County.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

* Timing... through 11 am.

* Impacts... motorists are asked to exercise extreme caution when
driving this morning due to restricted visibilities. Be
prepared for sudden reduced visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to one quarter mile or less. If driving... slow down... use
your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of
you in case a sudden stop is needed.

Just wish we could have a December like 1998! If it's not going to be cold and snowy, it might as well be warm and sunny! Heading into the low 60's on Tuesday at least.

Areas of fog will persist through the first half of this evening
ahead of an approaching cold front. Visibilities will be around one
mile in many locations... with a few locations under one-half mile
at times.

If you plan to travel this evening... be on the alert for locally
dense fog and rapidly changing visibilities.

Conditions will improve late tonight when a gusty northwest flow
develops behind a cold frontal passage.

WOW! Amazing run on the 18z GFS. It's a little bit fantasy but these storms have been showing up a lot on the models. Look how cold the GFS gets too! Temps drop to -1°F on the 29th!

Christmas morning snow!
