am EST Thursday.

* Locations... southern Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island.

* Hazard types... snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 2 to 5 inches... highest
across eastern Long Island. There is a low probability for 4 to
8 inches... only if heavy snow banding works north into the area.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 30s.

* Visibilities... one half mile at times. There is a low
probability for one quarter mile or less at times... only if

February 2013 was the snowiest February on record here. Islip had a lot more than I did this month due to the immense gradient from the Blizzard of 2013. Also the first time since January 2011 where we had a month with no 50F+ days.

This storm really sucked here. My town was in the screwzone. Places just 1,2,3 miles north of here have snow on the ground, not us. We had 2.8" on the ground as of 10:00am this morning, now all melted and gone. Now at 32.8" on the season, places 5-10 miles north of me are around 45" on the season. a few miles can make a world of difference. That's what I get for being in the warmer part of the island. Long Island climatology sucks!
