Get ready...

North central Illinois could expect to see upwards of 8 inches of snow, while Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana will receive 18-24 inches OR MORE.  A lot of Lake Effect.

This is the first time I've ever seen an IntelliSTAR icon for Thundersnow.   B)

EDIT: I almost forgot.  Strong (50+ mph) winds are expected to cause 15-30 foot waves on Lake Michigan.

We measured the yard in about 5 different spots, and it averaged 25 inches.  The "official" tally here in Highland was 23.9 inches, so we were close.

One drift completely covered our 4 foot cyclone fence.  No thunder here though.   :lol:

Chicago Police were using snowmobiles to rescue people on Lake Shore Drive!  I've never seen anything like that.

Yesterday, on the news.  There was a reporting station that recorded a low of -28 north of Tulsa, OK.  That's unreal!

A cool and rainy spring so far.

The winter of 2010-11 was the fourth consecutive season of 50+ inches of snow in Chicago.  That's a new record.
