I decided I'd start a new topic for my weather observations, instead of everything being put into one thread.
Currently its 72 degrees under cloudy skies. Its been raining all evening, having just let up about a half hour or so ago. BUt it was much needed rain. Tomorrow is supposed tobe quite cool compared to what its been with a high of only 79.
-
Well I wokup this moring to...RAIN!!! We need it, so I say let it rain!! 8)
-
We had a pretty decent day here today. Up until about 3 this afternoon it was cloudy though. Temps were right around 80. Very comfortable indeed. Tomorrow and Monday are supposed to be equally comfortable.
-
Nasty weather yesterday. We were under a Tornado Watch pretty much all day, and once the evening came things started getting nasty. Losts of thunder, lightning, and heavy rain. Looks like today is going to be similar. No watches or warnings yet though.

I heard that the entire Mall was evacuated b/c of a tornado warning! Maybe a wake up call from that It Could Happen Tom. episode of a Washington tornado?
-
Nah, I don't think it was quite as bad as that one was.

True, but at least they were prepared.

The temperature at Baltimore Inner Harbor hit 100° at 4:00 today! :o

Yeah, and the actual predicted high for today was 102! It was a scorcher! And we're expecting the same for tomorrow.
-
Much more comfortable here today since the cold front came through. Much less humid, and we're only in the 80's as opposed to near 100 as we've been for the last few days.
-
Temps only in the mid 80's today. A very beautiful day indeed. 8)

Nasty storm moving over the area. We are currently under a Tornado Warning. The South side of the storm appears to be showing some rotation, and it looks like a funnel maybe forming. The storm is also producing quarter size hail. Recording some LF's, and hopefully I'll have them up sometime soon. 8)

Well, yesterday the NWS confirmed that an F1 tornado touched down about 50 miles or so from where I live, in an area called Fallston. Lots of downed trees, power lines, and phone poles. Very little or no damage to houses though. I have some LF's and other footage from TWC from when this occured which I'll be posting either here or on the site sometime soon.
As for today, they are calling for another round of rough weather, so we'll see what happens.
-
That sounds big. :o

Wouldn't it technically be an EF1 tornado. :P
-
Yes Derek, it would.
Whose idea was it to add an E? what a dumb idea.
Actually, no Gil it was fairly small. The one that happened in College Park a few years back was much worse.
-
Yah, the new fugita scale is stupid. i wish they would use the old one.
-
Well, no bad weather here today. Though it appeared that there was a line of storms that moved through PA. Billy and Tyler probably saw some of those storms. But anyway, their calling for the possibility of nasty weather again tomorrow. I guess we'll see what happens. 8)

Why is it "stupid", just curious?

Nope, not yet. The most we got was a rain shower at around 3:00 PM today.

Because the Fujita scale was fine as it was. there was no reason to change it.

I'm sure there was a reason to change it. They just don't change things for no reason. ;)

well if there was a reason, it was probably a stupid reason.

Well the old f4 is the EF5 so we might see more EF5 twisters in the future. >_<
-
Nice weather here today Temps were in the lower 80's, and the humidity was virtually non-existant. Similiar conditions are expected until next week when normal summertime conditions are expected to return. On an interesting note, we are now officially in a drought. Though I don't know how they came to that conclusion-we're only a couple of inches short for the year, and have a small surplus for the month.
-
Nasty thunderstorm over us right now. Lots of thunder and lightning, torrential rain, dime size hail, and winds at least 40 mph.
-
Today's storm was arguably one of the worst I've seen in quite some time. Numerous tree's and wires down, and water on some of the streets was knee deep. At times the wind was blowing so hard that the rain was completely horizontal.
-
