Title: Weatherstar XLv3 (Unknown STAR ID) Issues, possible upgrade?
Post by: Austin M. on January 27, 2011, 05:23:38 PM
STAR ID: Unknown, hasn't been displayed in at least a year (ID Screen shows a dot)
Location: Ozark, AL
Provider: Cobridge/Charter
Date: 1/27/11

So, here is the issue. As you've read, my STAR ID doesn't display. The vocal local messages are being changed to lengthier narrations (like used in the Intellistar), and just a moment ago, I discovered that we're being broadcasted under a national forecast, not a local. Is this possibly a defective unit, or maybe the unit is being upgraded or replaced? Perhaps with the Intellistar 2 or IS2A?

The IS2 will only be on HD.

Do you have a clip of the XL? Maybe it'll help us understand the issue more clearly.

I'll attempt to upload a clip in the next 20 minutes.
The STAR is back in local service (not national), so that is a good sign

Cool! I've never seen your XL before, so it'll be a treat to see

Weatherstar XLv3 Problems (Ozark, AL) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cYaeo3sWhI#)

I'd recommend turning the volume up, I didn't realize I had it that low...
But here it is, though they disabled a bunch of options to make the WS crappy. Sons of  :censored: don't know what is nice here.

. Ever since they put the national LDL on the normal TWC feed, they disabled legacy star LDLs.

As for the star ID missing, star team will have to look at that.

No, it isn't the National LDL. We got the National feed LF cued for about an hour one day, the vocal local has been disabled off and on during some days, and the LWXID page hasn't shown the cable provider, radio station/newspaper, or ID in about a year, actually.

Yes, star team has to take a look at that.

STAR is working properly again, however, the squeezebar (intentional?) only displays national data, not local. Local data was displayed for the first week of squeezebar.

Because this thread has been abused over the past two days when the specific problem for this STAR has already been solved, I'm locking this topic.
