TWC Tech Support Forum Rules & Post Guidelines
« on: March 29, 2010, 01:39:32 AM »
TWC STAR TEAM Message Boards and Chat Rules

This forum has been created by TWC Today and The Weather Channel in order to exchange specific STAR-related technical issues, questions, problems, and outages for TWC Local on the 8’s and Weatherscan. If you see a problem or have a technical issue with a STAR product, post it here. A TWC STAR team moderator will monitor the feedback you provide and regularly correct issues in the field as soon as possible. When possible, they may be able to let you know when issues have been resolved and further explain the issue.

Before posting, be sure to read and follow the TWC Today terms of use and the rules from weather.com. In addition, by accessing this forum you agree to abide by the additional rules and guidelines below. The TWC STAR moderator will close threads immediately for inappropriate content or behavior. Any violations of the rules may result in removal of the forum and/or additional restrictions by the TWC Today moderators.

The following activities are not allowed:
Profanity, obscenities, or objectionable language or attachments
Personal attacks on others
Impersonating others
Advertising or any form of commercial solicitation
Use of unauthorized copies of material (copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise protected) in messages**
Posting or transmitting anything containing a virus or other harmful component
Collecting or using user-supplied email addresses for any other purpose other than participating in these discussions
Guidelines:
TWC STAR moderators will regularly monitor these boards. They will not be able to reply to all issues; however all feedback submitted to this forum will be read by a TWC STAR team member.
This forum is only for issues directly related to your STAR products, Local on the 8’s or Weatherscan. All other questions should be sent to weather.com or discussed in another TWC Classics forum.
When possible, make sure to include your local weather ID (in the ‘black bar’ on an IntelliStar, or usually displayed in the upper right hand corner of the screen before the :58 after Local on the 8s on the other Stars). If the local weather ID is not available, please include your town, the Cable company name and channel #.
Do not contact the TWC moderators directly via PM, email, or IM. Post any questions in the appropriate thread. You may continue to send feedback and other questions to TWC directly through weather.com.
Follow the rules. The TWC STAR moderator and/or TWC Today moderators reserve the right to discontinue this forum at any time.
The Weather Channel is not responsible for the content contained on these boards. Any content exchanged on these boards is for personal use only and must not be used for any commercial purposes.

**In this forum, you may capture screenshots and video images for the sole purpose of illustrating examples of issues with your STAR. Remember that TWC images, products, logos and graphics are protected property of TWC and are for personal use only.

PMing the STAR Team is strictly against the forum rules and regulations. Doing such will result in a warning increase.

From this point forward, please no longer reply to a thread in the Tech Support forum with a response consisting of, or similar in varying to the following:
"You shouldn't of posted that here."
"Suggestions aren't allowed here."
"That shouldn't of been posted in the Tech Support thread."
etc.

First and foremost, it's been stated by the STAR Team mild suggestions are welcome, though that doesn't mean they will be implemented. Also, it shouldn't be anyone else's job to tell another member what should be posted where. Repeat violators will be issued consequences...no ifs/ands/buts/excuses. This new rule isn't directed towards any one person, but rather towards everyone, as folks have been posting replies like this since the forum was introduced. Thanks!
