The local cable outlet here in our local area recently done a major upgrade to the system which included an upgrade to the Intellistar.
Unfortunately due to the head end being 50 miles away, our local area does not receive the most accurate local info. I was wondering if something could be done.
Here's the breakdown on the cable system...
Provider: Morris Broadband
City of Service: Nebo NC (Eastern McDowell County NC)
Headend location: Hendersonville NC
Channel Number: 17
ID: 24332
My suggestion would be for the primary obs and forecast to be changed to Marion NC (28752), which for the main reason is that Marion is our county seat. Also there's a noticeable elevation difference between the two small cities. Therefor there can be a significant weather differences between the two towns. If Marion cannot be used as a primary obs site then Morganton or Rutherfordton NC would serve as good alternates.
The weather maps such as radars and city forecasts also need to be altered if possible to be more centered on our specific location.
As far as severe weather warnings, we have not had any bad weather since our system was upgraded so I don't know if McDowell County NC is covered on the headend.
As always thanks for your time in looking into this issue...
