What Do You Think the Fate of Weatherscan is?
« on: January 15, 2012, 06:30:44 PM »
After all of the recent changes at TWC since 2008/NBC takeover, what do you think the fate of Weatherscan is? Would TWC continue to work on it and develop it? Would there be a Weatherscan HD? Would it be discontinued?

Also, is there any word on Weatherscan or something similar coming to DirecTV? That'd be nice.

I don't think Weatherscan is going anywhere.  It probably won't be receiving any major updates or upgrades anytime soon, but what there is will likely remain.  As for an HD version, that's very unlikely.  Cable operators simply won't want to invest in so much bandwidth just for a repeating computer-generated weather report.

I say its dead in 10 years. With the way things are evolving the demand is rapidly decreasing

I think trying to predict the future of television in ten years is a little... impossible, to say the least.  :)

I can see Weatherscan HD for dish and directv with one feed that covers the the full nation
