Our Weatherscan in Topeka "skips" (basically freezes for a second) often. It completely freezes all the time, tho. It's been frozen since 10:40PM. It's now 1:22AM. This has been happening since the day we got it on May 19th.
Agreed, and it is now an hour later (2:06AM) and it is still froze, showing the time as being 10:41:00...

Wow, can't believe there are intellistars in the 30000's now! :o
Is the ID # the #Weatherscan it is to be produced or something?
Basically, the ID number for any IntelliStar (including the Weatherscan IntelliStar) can be used to show an approximate age of the unit. Units from 2003 (which is when the IS was first introduced) are down in the low 20000s. The ID numbers generally increase with each unit that is rolled out. New units are now in the low 30000s, which basically infers that about 10,000 IntelliStar (and Weatherscan IntelliStar) units have been added in the past seven years.
kinda like how, my Intellistar is 23273, but how Weatherscan is 20271, meaning when Weatherscan Intellistar was introduced we still had an XL.

I just got off the phone with Cox. She submitted the problem and before I even got off the phone with her she said they wrote her back and will reset the IntelliStar and look into the constant freezing problem. Weatherscan is now off air so they must be resetting it.

You always beat me too it when I come to report a problem!  As of right now (11:38AM) it is running...but none of the local forecasts for the three cities we have are showing up. :dunno:

You tuned in right after the reset by Cox. It takes a little bit for everything to load back in. They reset it at 11:30am so you would have started watching right after that. Everything is loading in now and coming back up.
It was kinda "cool" to watch all the maps and data go from temp unavailable and the radar saying "Past 5 mins" to being almost fully loaded. Of course it is doing the whole "skipping" thing that others were reporting earlier. Very annoying. Oh well.

Yes, everything appears to be working 100% now...which is something I have not seen since WcScan came on!

Our Weatherscan was just rebroadcasting TWC all day.....so we had 3 TWC channels, HD, SD, and WxScan SD.

That's odd, I didn't know they were capable of overriding Weatherscan's feed with TWC's feed.

They probably could if they wanted to, as it is an Intellistar unit but TWC is more like an emergency feed for Weatherscan, always the satellite feed of TWC. Usually the TWC feed during a time when the unit is rebooting has very low volume of audio and sometimes the video feed would be of higher brightness and/or contrast. Mike might be able to clarify since he is the resident Weatherscan expert. :P

My Weatherscan shows a national TWC feed as well, although there's no audio. I've seen others though (such as Camden) that show a black screen when the unit is off.

The units aren't capable of producing the TWC feed. It's the cable company simulcasting TWC on the channel Weatherscan is supposed to be on.

I finally found a snapshot of a Weatherscan reboot on Silicondust! Odd enough to say that it was The FiOS Weatherscan in Richmond. (zip 23221)
