WeatherScan date

I looked at Comcast's online TV planner (http://tvplanner.comcast.net) and when i looked on WeatherScan for my area, it said 2000
which means it was installed in 2000. Just thought that was pretty cool. 8)

Yeah, i didn't expect that. I know it was AT&T Broadband when it was installed, so they must've carried over the info, which is cool.

Ok, I see it now, and it says 2000. I don't think that year means what year Weatherscan was installed, but what year the show was introduced. (I KNOW my area didn't have Weatherscan in 2000). If you click on other channels, TWC for example, and choose PM Edition it ways 2003, or Abrams & Bettes says 2006, or Evening Edition says 2001. The year is what year that program started.

I see what your saying. It just means that WeatherScan began in 2000, but wasn't necessarily airing at that time in a particular area.

TWC's timeline says Weatherscan debuted in 1999, plus TWCfan posted a video of Weatherscan from 1999. I started getting Weatherscan on basic sometime around late 2000/early 2001.

In some areas it did start in 1999. But not every location got it at that time. As with any new channel, carriers don't begin carrying it the second its available.
