Cox Communications & Weatherscan
« on: May 27, 2010, 03:23:51 AM »
I was looking at the channel lineups for communities served by Cox in Kansas & Arkansas and every single one of them have weatherscan.  In Kansas they are all on Channel 270.  It appears as if Cox of KS & AR has added weatherscan to every community it serves!  Any other cable companies doing this?  Perhaps with all these communities added, they will get some new songs on there or something.

Every community in Kansas and Arkansas? Cox here does not offer WeatherScan. Instead they have a deal with a local NBC affiliate where they rerun a video forecast all day.

Yes, I didn't look at each and every city, as most cities are tied into a "regional" channel line up but all of the ones I looked at had weatherscan. In Arkansas it appears to be on channel 137.

The only other 24/7 weather thing we have is with a local ABC station called "KTKA 49 Weathernow" and they provide current conditions, weather forecasts, radar, etc. 24/7 with an occasional update from a meterologist.  Of course there is also "Kansas 22"...a statewide channel on Cox Kansas in which KSN-TV from Wichita and KSNT-TV from Topeka (Although mostly KSN) provide news and weather updates 24/7 for the state.  Here are some snapshots.
