"Faulty Equipment" replaced
« on: June 10, 2010, 04:58:52 AM »
After E-mailing Cox a few times about Weatherscan acting up (for 3 straight weeks) I recieved an Email stating that the provider of the weatherscan channel had "Replaced the faulty equipment"...looks like something was wrong with the unit, or that's what they are just telling me...anywho it has been working great so far today (that I have seen...don't know about Kevin...)

They may have replaced it last week. It was out all day long and so was the local forecasts on TWC. The local came back on TWC in the afternoon that day but Weatherscan didn't come back till the next day. It's still freezing with the new unit. I just got off the phone with Cox. They told me it was because I was in an outage area due to the 80mph winds that went through Topeka last night. This is the second time it's froze in the past 4 days. I told him it has been doing this for a month since we got it and asked him to send a message to the techs for a reset. After argueing with him for 20 mins he started getting rude so I blew up on him and told him it had nothing to do with the outage. He finally sent a message to them and they responded back to him immediately saying it was a problem with the unit and they'd look at it and it was something a reboot would not fix. They rebooted it 20 mins later and it's loading in now. Sucks I have to constantly call to have them reboot it. To the people saying freezing is normal on a new Intellistar: Does it usually reboot when that happens by itself (because I've seen it freeze and immediately reboot) or does it need a manual reboot from the headend? Also how long does it usually take for it to stop freezing after it is first installed? Thanks!
