The Local Across the 48s will take place on Thursday, March 11 at 8:58 PM ET
Due to complications and delays, the Local Across the 48s #6 will be postponed to March 11.
-
Ooo I think I can participate! :thrilled:
Does this mean I need to record in SD or will this surprise be on HD too? :bleh:
-
The first Local Across the 48s will take place on Thursday, March 11 at 8:58 ET.
I would like to ask that everyone record video after the local forecast until the first commercial break.
Trust me... this is a good date :whistling:
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? :P
-
DVR Set- can't wait!
-
Count me in on both Intellistar units! :)
I see no need to record the [HD] feed since I know someone else will :P
-
I might record with either a Flip-Video Camcorder or Digital Video Camera.
-
Glad you all can participate :)
-
I don't know if I can do this now. My parents are off that day and they hog up the TV all day especially the night during their days off...
-
Is this in the morning or at night?
-
Is this in the morning or at night?
Depends on the time zone where you live. If it's 8:58 eastern, then it's 5:58 west (my time).
-
Is this in the morning or at night?
It's in the evening at 8:58 PM Eastern time on March 11.

Sorry, no can do.
Sorry to hear that Mike but it will be an interesting day. Hope you can at least watch some! Thanks for stopping by :)
-
DVR Set, will try to get it Live though, I set the DVR just in case
-
Hope you don't mind that it's just a satellite LF with no LDL :P

Curious how your "dead" STAR will react come next week.
-
It's official, count me in. B)
-
Glad so many of you can participate. I know its not the most convenient time. Thanks :)

I'm wondering if I'll even see this update you guys keep talking about. It sure looks as though my STAR will be dead through that day. As of the :38 LF, it's still dead. No commercial plugins, no station ID, and no LDL. You'd think there was no STAR connected!

Due to complications and delays (ahem), the Local Across the 48s #6 will be postponed until March 11.
-
Still a good day for me. Sorry to see it's been delayed.
-
I updated the news to indicate the delay for you, Martin.
-
Is this in the morning or at night?
It's in the evening at 8:58 PM Eastern time on March 11.
Thanks
-
Does the delay involve TWC or this forum's part?
-
I'm glad its delayed. I just haven't been feeling good the last couple of days.
-
Does the delay involve TWC or this forum's part?
That would be a good assumption
-

TWC's part, the changes that were supposed to be made that day were delayed.
-
I am sure you all guessed it but we can now say it officially "new LDLs will be launched March 11th" So that is why a LAT48s is so critical for this day :)

So wait, this LDL is going to be on the IntelliStar too?

Yes

I apologize for this noob-ish question, but what exactly is a Local Across the 48s? I mean, I know it's kind of like you record a local forecast from where you live, but is there any other reason behind it? Nonetheless, if I can visit my grandmother that day, her cable company has an IntelliSTAR so I may be able to participate this time around.

LAT48s is when we all (who can) record their LFs all at the same time just for fun. :)
-
I'm still not sure if i can participate. If I can't record it, please understand that it's for obvious issues (family watching too much tv) and that it was for unavoidable reasons.M y slingbox doesn't work for my upstairs receiver so I can't use that either.

Would love for you to be able to participate. Basically you said it. We all record a local forecast at the same time across the country. Neat to compare everyones weather, configurations ,etc. this time we are recording the first TWC segment after to catch the new LDL! Thanks for expressing your interest! :)
-
Cool, thank you all for answering my question. I'll see what I can do.

No problem Christina! Hope life has been treating you well :)
-
Will make a more detailed announcement later but its 3.11.10 now for the LAT48s. Sorry for the last second change :(
-
I'll wait for your announcement before editing the news about it unless you want to keep it at the same time but for March 11 now.
-
Guess the number on the logo should be "2" now since I assume it's a countdown.
-
You can make the change Patrick. Just haven't had a chance to get home yet. On my phone at the moment.
-
I've updated the news and edited the dates in this thread so that it shows March 11 at 8:58 PM ET for you, Martin. If you want to make any additional updates or change any of my edits, please feel free to do so. I just hope TWC doesn't have any more delays with the release of these new graphics and the LDL.
-
if i hear of one more delay im not recording... too many delays
-
At least now it is after the entire period of Michigan Merit Exam testing here. Not too upset about the delay to the point it is now, but further delay would get on my nerves too.

You guys do realize that this is outside of Martin's control, right?
-
I'm glad it's delayed now it seems more likely that I'll be able to participate now. :)

I agree. It's all about patience here. Besides, it wont affect my illness.
-
Perhaps it was my mistake to have it right on a launch date. The indications of these dates were solid but as you can clearly see TWC likes to have fun with us. I am sorry changing the date irritates some of you. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal but I do understand if participation is lack luster considering the shaky schedule going on here. I see no point at all really of a LAT48 with a batch of TWC updates just around the corner. As always your comments and opinions are welcome.
-
Why is this delayed again?
-
It was delayed because TWC delayed the graphics which was the whole point of it. However it LOOKS like we are good to go for tomorrow. :)
-
Gotten the word.... all lights green for tomorrow
-
We are on for today. REMEMBER TO RECORD THE SEGMENT AFTER THE LOCAL FORECAST
-
I signed on today and thought I was too late and missed the launch but now I'm relieved, my DVR is set for tonight!
-
I may be away during that time...but I still have my VCR set to go.

Awesome! Looking forward to this :)

Do you want the whole segment until the next commercial break? I see the updated bar during the national segments...literally takes up the lower third of the screen.

Yes I would like to try and record everything until the start of the next commercial break if we can :)
-
I would like to take a brief moment to welcome back all of the members who don't check in too regularly. We have seen a large surplus of member checking in today about the new changes. We all welcome you to participate in our Local Across the 48s where we record an LF and this time record the weather segment after it until the first commercial break. It will take place tonight at 8:58PM ET if you are interested. We would love to see your video if you can make it :)
-
Wait what time should we start and end the recording?
-
8:56 to 9:06 ET(!!)
-
I know everyone wants to record IntelliSTAR, for the new LDL....but do you mind if I record the HD SF? They updated the sidebar today as well. So we are recording from 7:58PM-8:05PM CST??

If you don't have the IS then yes you may

I'm setting my tuner to record in DivX AVI format, but it will be converted to WMV, so there will be a watermark at times. :hmm:

-
I'm able to participate but the best I can do is my new digital camera with likely quiet audio...that's the way it's been with other recordings.
-
Yus, I can record it, also, I recorded when the star shut off for the ldl and icon update as well, which is something I will upload to my YT.
