The Video Matter

I've done some thinking about the matter of people not wanting to see videos that are already on YouTube, and here's my take on the issue, and what I plan to do.

First, it should be no surprise that there's some overlap when it comes to videos posted here and on YT. I have asked repeatedly for contributions, but have never received them. But sure as I'm typing this videos continue to appear on YouTube. As long as people continue putting their videos on YouTube, this will be a problem. You have surely noticed that I have all but quit posting videos, and that's why. You guys record something, tell me I can put it on the site, then put it on YouTube. Well, what's the sense of putting it on the site? The reaction will be the same as it was about the batch of videos I put up yesterday "Ho Hum, boring".

So as a result f the apparent disinterest in putting videos on this site, and instead using YouTube, I am going to consider bringing the video section down entirely. I just don't see the point.

I'm interested in your comments and thoughts. Please share if you wish.

So nobody has any comment on this matter? Come on people, doesn't anyone want to be involved? Its like you all couldn't care less what happens to the site. But let me tell you all that its closing and THAT will get your attention, right?

I enjoy your videos a lot

I think one reason why people post clips on youtube is because of "attention" and views. People likewise will post clips to see how many views and comments they will get.

I could contribute videos here too but they are all from this year and not back earlier in the decade

I will post videos from any year since 2000! As long as the most current have something unique..maybe you caught a funny outtake or something. But I'm not going to post bunches of LF videos from this year. That makes no sense. Want to see the current LF? Turn on the TV, you know?

Here's my issue with the YouTube thing..which is easier...searching through thousands of videos to find something that interests you, or coming to one site, one central location, for all TWC videos of this time period?

What about putting the videos on YouTube, then putting the YouTube links on the video pages?  The videos would be in a centralized location, and we'd even be able to comment on them.

Well, its an idea to consider. I suppose its better than what we currently have.

yea we could embed the videos in the site. also i can give u an intellistar clip from atlantic city if ya like. i have 1 more clip that i haven't uploaded to yt and don't have plans to.
