Here's my take on the transparent "LOT8s" bug before the current update.

Just highlight it or try to.

I've decided to try my own version of a HiRAD map around Irving, TX.

What if NBC Universal further degrades The Weather Channel's TV lineup by adding unrelated TV shows? Not like that they're gonna go that far, but that's what happened to MTV, VH1, G4, and many other cable networks.

Yeah, thank goodness TWC wasn't purchased by Viacom or Comcast, which had significantly changed their channels (TechTV, VH1, MTV/MTV2).

Thanks to Zach, I got the DirecTV LF templates and decided to create my own concept of an LF app in action...BETA tested with Helvetica fonts. Actual weather data as of 7:10PM CDT on the date this is posted.

DISCLAIMER: All known materials are property of The Weather Channel and TWC Interactive. The LF backgrounds are a joint effort between TWC and DirecTV but made possible by Zach Christopher.

Yeah, look in Zach's portfolio, he has a couple blank DirecTV slides. If you wanna use them, go ahead. Just be sure to give credit to Zach when you do.

With that being said: I made a few improvements, plus an addition to the DirecTV app concept (the CC LDL). I also created a 2nd version with TWC's web icons.

An idea just popped into my head this week: A couple years ago, the OnSpot Digital Network is installed at all Simon Property-owned malls including the Irving Mall. All the time they were showing news, sports, TV clips, and advertisments; they never show weather and/or traffic. So I thought, "Why not add TWC HD to the mix?"

Here's my concept on TWC forecasts shown to mall goers (See attachments). The temperatures are color-cordinated to match the color legend (shown on National Forecast high & low maps).

DISCLAIMER: All known materials are property of The Weather Channel and TWC Interactive. The L-Bar Material (which I tweaked a little), fonts, and the titlebar are courtesy of Martin. US Satellite/Radar map provided by Google Earth. The icons in the 4th version are provided by Raymie. The OnSpot Digital Network logo is owned by Simon Property Group and Publicis USA.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome.
You know, that'd be a great Weatherscan upgrade too! I love it!

What if all cable headends that still have the WeatherStar 4000 & Jr. units are required to upgrade to an XL or an IntelliStar? This concept is inspired by the 2009 DTV transition.

On the 2nd piece of artwork, my idea for all the decomissioned WeatherStars including the 3000s, 4000s and Jr's is that they're reconfigured and sent back to all cable headends as an upgrade to the Emergency Alert System.

It seems Zach has passed the boredom on to me. I've just created my concept of a Travel Forecast utilizing the current IS Marine template.

One thing I've noticed on my local IntelliStar (#22105) is that there are 2 different Irving observation sites. These 2 pieces of fan art will show you examples:
