Title: 7OArt
Post by: Jonathan on January 29, 2009, 05:54:04 PM
Here are the download links for each color and subsequent style. I have made versions with(out) the small bar at top, and with(out) a glassy effect behind the main text area. I will edit this reply as I get more versions done.

NOTE: To view SVG images you will need an SVG editor such as Adobe Illustrator (http://www.adobe.com/illustrator) or, for a free alternative, Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/). These are licensed under the public domain as they are simple geometric shapes and colors, thus not meeting eligibility for any copyright. I do, however, request you credit me.

Yellow
Used for (early) morning shows

The yellow lower thirds are also used on Day Planner, Sunrise Weather/Weekend Outlook, and Weekend Now. The blue ones are only used on Weather Center, PM Edition, and sometimes A&B.

I have made a yellow "LIVE" corner graphic. I'll add other colors VERY soon.

I would have to search hard for this font as it doesn't come with Office 2007, like a lot of other fonts do... or with Martin's packages he posted before.

Right now I'm using Helvetica Neue, TWC's other font. Close enough for me......

I'm taking a bit of a break from graphics as I'm getting back into the swing of school (we've been out for a week). Hopefully I'll add more graphics during the weekend, but I need to get back in the normal way of things first. Thanks for understanding!

Update! Since Weather Center finally premiered, I'm working on the L3rds. I have the W, but not the snip box or circles around the W. They should be out by tonight, or if I become lazy, tomorrow afternoon.

See why I hate low quality and my sharp resolution? I'll fix it now. But I do see a light gradient that pops in on occasion...I can't be mistaken there, unless it's the text.

EE: Possibly. 3-D Effects: Probably not.
A&B: Sure!
WO: If I can find a title card...
Old WC: Should, I think it's pretty close to the Meta Bold font, saving lotsa retracing...

I'm going to make a TWC Mockup Pack in PowerPoint '07 and I will aptly refuse to make Wake Up With Al lower thirds...it doesn't deserve my time.

It won't be compatible with PowerPoint '03 for the most part...it uses some features available only in '07. More info later.

Great news, everybody! I'm working on a 7OArt Downloader...where you will be able to download my art, straight from the program!  It'll include ALL my art, and I'll put in my mockup pack when it's ready. I'll create a new topic for the download, but you will have to check for updates yourself...I likely won't learn the code for an auto-updater. I hope it'll be out by July.

Won't it be awesome??? :thrilled:

It's come to that time where it's been long enough to the point where you're saying, "I could've done better" about your art.

Man, it's been a long time here.

That's why I'm happy to announce I'm in the progress of making improved L3rds. These will be using EXACT colors, a little more shine. However, with these, I have to discontinue two editions of each color: the no glassy effect and the edition with nothing extra, just the box. These will not be included in the "L3rds 2.0" package.

Expect them later tonight or tomorrow. However, to give you a taste, I've attached a preview of the yellow, which just needs a little more color tweaking. Enjoy!

That's it! The FINISHED PRODUCT of my IS emulator! I made it 1:30 with 5 slides...the song is "Allure" by Ryan Farish and the icons are the ones that are currently in use at weather.com. I do not plan to move on with this project, I think I am going to call this done and shove it in the back of a filing cabinet...the graphics are just too much of a hassle.

If you'd like me to release the titlebars separately, just reply and I'll release them by popular demand...depending on how many people want them.

Constructive criticism is appreciated!

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone!

I received a PM from a user asking for a copy of the IS emulator. In that case, you would be wanting the series of images and vector files I use for the emulator. For now, I would prefer not to release those. I likely will let the resources for the emulator trickle out (you already have the titlebars ;)) and will leave the rest to you.

Once again, thanks everyone! I'm working on a 3rd emulator...it will be a localized one again.

Well, this topic is almost stale. But I suppose I should make it fresh again?

Don't ask what gave me the idea to make a concept of the love triangle child of the 4000, XL, and HDStar. Even I don't know! Anyway, here's what I have so far...

A lot of the links and images are missing, I don't know if it's due to a technical glitch or if it's something I'm doing, but I really want to try to see the images too.

We had a problem with attachments to posts a while back and unfortunately lost some of them.  Sorry about the inconvenience, but anyone should be able to reattach their work now.

In that case, I've lost all of my work. =\

I'm working on that issue right now.

IntelliStar v3 Concept Emulation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_uDB29jZC8#)

Here's the concept emulation. Yea, the video quality is a bit screwy. <_< Thoughts?

Hey all. You may have seen some sigs similar to mine pop up today. I should note that if you would like a sig in that style, I am not going to release the SVG of the LDL for a while so I can make sure everything is perfect. However, you can contact me at my e-mail (it's in the sig) and answer all required questions:

In the end, you should have something like this (with different info, of course!):

HD IntelliStar v2 Emulation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgP3RQmBSvY#ws)

This is my HDStar v2 concept...I only made it in 720p so the icons wouldn't be blurry. However, it's pretty much the same thing as the IS v3 concept.

All data was valid at each image's time of creation. Kudos and copyright junk are all in the description over at YouTube.

EDIT: I should note that I will be releasing the blank screens for this video sometime this week, along with everything you might need to go with it. As of right now, I am writing up the readmes and adding files that some people may need to go with the blanks. Keep your eyes peeled!
